As a believer it is amazing what I just realized by watching this video . For starters, the reason God separated the so called “ apocryphal books” from biblical scripture . By including them as truth, one will be led astray . A scripture comes to mind… “ the Letter Killeth but the Spirit maketh alive.” You can’t understand the Bible without believing the author. The author (who is never separated from His words) is the one that gives the Spirit of understanding a mystery. (Exactly like He gave Daniel.) Still, we know in part. Trying to live by the letters alone…. Killith! (In some way). God watches over His word and hasn’t missed a second since He had man pen it. No man can understand the meaning of prophecy in its totality. That’s not how prophecy works. Especially eschatological prophecy. It is revealed over time and God’s control of the process is absolute! Many fail to see the glory and majesty of the power and sovereignty of God! We think that since man, or the scholars, or today’s celebrated thinkers, can’t figure it out then that’s where it ends. Because let’s face it, God definitely is not smarter than we. 66 books. 40 plus writers. Written over a span of 2000 plus years. Most authors never met each other. None realized the volume they were contributing to. Certain books no allowed or removed when trying to be added. Why? So it would be impossible for man to claim authorship. Not a single credible individual has ever attempted authorship. That’s strange as heck! How God eliminated even the thought in man…. God’s prophecies mentioned in Daniel are not committed to a timeline. They’re not bound to the rules of human storytelling. They don’t always land where we like them to . They transcend human logic . That’s exactly how God planned it . To the believer who understands God’s personality none of this is strange. We already know “His ways are past finding out.” So we rest. We occupy till He comes. Eternally secure in the knowledge He possesses. Excluding all goofy religious ritual. We’re not stumped by prophetic scripture. We simply believe . Which is pre-requisite number one ! First you believe. Only then you see. Measure the accuracy of the word of God by your own ability to comprehend and you have waisted precious time. One must ask, if these things take place, where does that leave me? How am I positioned in the grand scheme of God? Imagine thinking “all this stuff is just so silly!” Till the events become more frequent. Then we realize it was all true. The fact that we didn’t believe it only matters to the unbeliever. Of whom God has already factored in.

Engrossing analysis and extrapolation on how the people who continue to hold these texts as prophetic would attempt to apply them in the modern era. I dabble in forecasting myself but have learned the hard way that the future is something that humanity collectively creates as it goes along.

I believe the beauty and intrigue of this (prophecy) is the collage of past and future events as dreamt and/or visioned by those with the gift, that really is a curse. There have been, are and likely will continue to be the "visionaries" who dream or see future events. Very frequently the visions or dreams are mixed with personal, local and global themes or scenarios. The future is seen but not generally as a congruent and linear event or experience. Much along the lines of Synchronicity.

Maybe the career of Antiochus blends so seemlessly into the exploits of the final evil figure because the author thought that Antiochus would return, as some later thought that Nero would return. I've known Christians who thought that either Nero or Antiochus might be raised from the dead to become the final Antichrist figure, as the author of Revelation seems to indicate that the "eighth king" who reigns for 3.5 years is one who has reigned previously. Maybe this is indeed how the author of Revelation understood Daniel. This seems like an interesting idea, and perhaps a ready solution to the issue in the text, but to date, I have not seen evidence that Second Temple Jews thought that Antiochus might return. Then again, I haven't searched extensively, either.

It has occurred to me, based on Revelation, that in the End the Jews will see their Messiah, and the Christians will think it's the Antichrist. Or, somehow, maybe the Christians have been right, and will reject the Antichrist, while most of the world embraces him. Either one sounds tragic.

Judaism being so given to altering their texts, I marvel that christians make so much of things that have been fulfilled - and by now, God only knows what is true of what is left? Have you ever been able to make sense of it to a determinable degree? God said He would destory them if they became His enemy? When?????? it's been going on about 3000 years.

I think that the one who worships the god of fortresses is Harod the Great. Herod's father was by descent an Edomite; his ancestors had converted to Judaism. Harod therefore did not follow the God of his fathers. He honored the god of fortresses by building a temple to the Ceasar of his era. The Ceasars were considered gods and the Roman Empire had fortresses everywhere. All these prophesies have been fulfilled at specific points in time. This is true for the book of Revelation, which picked up where Daniel left off. All the prophecies of Revelation have been fulfilled in sequential order up to the point of Rev 16, the bowls of wrath. James, how are you in the right Church, but you are all over the place, go back to the King James, you are doing too much, you are reading into it what is not there, the book of Revelations is not for us, and not even the Angel that sent and signified it knew what it meant, neither do you or anybody else, we will know the day Jesus is coming just not the hour, as far as I can tell.
