Very nice as always. For Windows users, Zotero is a nice free ref manager I used years ago, hopefully it's still nice.

I’m seeing a few endorsements of this one.

Andrew, The @ symbol in my quarto docs also brings up anything else - e.g. figures, tables etc. So the wildcard option (@*) would not work in that case. It would be interesting to see how one can have chapters in a quarto book where each chapter has its own references. How would that be set up? Great stuff as always. Thanks

Hi! Yes, @ is also used for cross-references, but honestly I'm not sure where your conflict might be coming from. I haven't run into that problem yet. Sorry!

@@EquitableEquations The point is that everything that has been cross-linked with @ will show up. Thus insert citation is actually much simpler.

Thanks Andrew. But why don't you use the citation built-in quarto and Rmarkdown. It is very convenient. You can switch to "Visual" editor in Quarto then " Insert > Citation", then search by paper name or author, or by DOI.

Nice! It’s important to me to have a stand-alone citation file for portability across projects.

Always something new to learn, thank you! I usually use Mendeley, but I've noticed that Zotero is easily integrated into the Quarto environment. Would anyone know how to also integrate Mendeley?
