Everyone does it different Lindsey pushes ear forward. But Olga z does not. I guess that falls for personal preference but I like the circle to be perfect in the regular position not when the ears are perked just because that is the position the ears would be in the majority of the time

I always hate when an owner just stands there even though they KNOW it is making the dog difficult. Then I have to have that awkward conversation about how their dog could get hurt or look horrible if they don't GTFO lol
@tinalouiseking5 жыл бұрын
That makes sense. Maybe you should let owners know that. I didn't
@DoubleDogDare544 жыл бұрын
Or, when you are working in a shop situation, the owner "just happened to be driving by and thought I'd stop in to see if *!!!!BUFFY!!!!!* is done yet. No? Oh, well, I'll come back later.......................HI, BUFFY!!! MOMMY"S BABY!!!" Of course, Buffy is doing back flips on the table and it take a half hour for the dog to settle down again. The best advice I ever got for dealing with that situation came from a groomer who tells the owners DO NOT COME UNTIL I CALL YOU TO TELL YOU THE DOG IS FINISHED - If you do come before I call, the groom is finished the second you walk in the door, regardless of how much more needs doing. You will pay full price for the groom, even if the dog is only half done. She told me it worked like a charm. The real pests who dropped in early anyway never did it again.

@@DoubleDogDare54 I need to adopt that policy! Unfortunately some of my canine clients flip out when anyone enters the salon, so it doesn't even have to be their owner 🙄😅

Please bring him more often. The groomer probably didn't do anything untoward to your dog. Sometimes just being away from parents and too spoiled can make them upset.

mine must be half bichon & half squirrel because he would NEVER stand so still & tolerate that. i know it's my fault because i never got him used to a show grooming when he was younger. now at 10 years old he's too busy looking out the window at birds in the yard or our yorkie running through the room to sit still and let me do that to him. his coat was never thick either so it's much more difficult to get a result like that.

Pedro Duron she is just using basic curved shears and a basic metal comb you can get any of them from numerous groomer supply online for relatively cheap 100 for the scissors 10 for the comb or you can get expensive like my shears that range between 300 and 800 and my utsumi combs which I love that are 75 a piece. Just depends what you want to spend but you should be able to do this cut with a lower priced set before moving to higher price

Groomers do not start with sharp shears like this international competition winning groomer is using. We get the physical memory down with "baby" grooming shears which have rounded tips and work our way up from there to sharper shears. The more time saved, the more comfortable the groom is for the dog.
@mommabingz84556 жыл бұрын
We aren’t called professionals for nothing. Grooming is an art form and we put in long, hard, arduous hours learning our craft. I can say I didn’t start out with safety shears 36 years ago. My teacher and mentor was the type to throw you in and you either sank or swam. It was her way of weeding out the ones that were truly not meant for this profession. And trust me there are many people out there that do not need to be grooming.

@DoubleDogDare544 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't even take shears to that dog unless it was *freshly* bathed, brushed and completely combed out immediately before. When there is enough time between the bath and the scissoring for the dog to get curly again you will never get quite the finish on it you are looking for. That, or dampened and blow out and comb out the head again, then scissor.

I don’t like this cut. They are so cute under all that puff of fur. I prefer my Bichon to be short & curly. He is too cute & rambunctious is to look like a girlie dog
@camckenzie2 жыл бұрын
As a groomer, I do (within reason) what the owner wants. My Bichon is my "show piece", so he gets the full fluff. And he has the coat for it. Many Bichons don't.
@Renvega77 Жыл бұрын
The owner of that dog should have waited somewhere else or hide so the dog wouldn't see him. I cant stand when owners do that. Makes it harder to groom the dog

Sorry, but I’m only 2:05 Into to the vid and thinking she is not kind at all towards that dog. Look at how she aggressively pulls the dogs fur and keeps pulling it underneath his mouth and uses the highly dominate aggressive hold over its mouth What’s wrong with her??? I’ve seen a lot of grooming vids. She’s too heavy handed for me. You wouldn’t do that to a human! I wouldn’t let her groom my dog if she was the last groomer on earth. Glad I groom mine all the time. You never know what kind of person is behind the scenes working on your dog. That dog wants away from her and the bad energy.
@camckenzie2 жыл бұрын
Have you ever groomed a dog? Unless the dog is held securely, he could be injured. It's for his safety. This dog isn't complaining, squirming excessively or crying. He sees his owner & wants to go.
@lindahallett94406 жыл бұрын
Watching her with those scissors round the eyes frightened the crap out of me. Not impressed 😱
@Wellgroomeddogs4 жыл бұрын
She is a PROFESSIONAL! She is a competitive groomer and grooms for groom team USA at the world grooming completions (all over the world, think Olympics of dog grooming). She has yeaaaaars and years of experience. She isn't a fly by night new groomer just using scissors willy nilly. It takes time, experience and education to get this good and do it safely. Not impressed on people commenting on a industry they know nothing about or what goes into the skill needed to achieve scissoring skills like that.
