Here I show how to remove your bicycle cassette locking ring without a chain whip or cassette locking tool. This demonstration is with a Shimano lockring type cassette. Other types should be similar.

The needle nose weren't able to get good enough purchase. I ended up using the head of a bolt (forget what size) that fit perfectly into the lock ring, and vice grip to turn.

lol damn, putting the vice grips on the needle nose was pretty clever. I am going to get a chain whip but the lock wrenches are so damn expensive for what they are so I'll do this instead.

Lol, i just tried this and snapped my needle nose pliers lol... my bad! The Arm literally snapped :(
