You could honestly ask that about 1947, when the US was the main driver behind the UN partition plan which disregarded and derogated from the right of self-determination that had been incorporated into the UN charter only years before. The honest truth is that who gets to decide who governs the Palestinians has mostly been the US since before the British left.

This is slightly different. The US didn't want to remove all Afghanis to settle Americans there. The Israeli intent is, and always has been, to remove all Palestinians so that Israelis can move in. Of course, I don't expect any US official to even think about this, never mind mention it. But this is the actual goal of Israel.

The comment that it needs to be "demilitarized" is troubling. Palestinians have a right to defend themselves, and one of the first orders of business for a new Palestinian state will be to acquire air defense weapons so they can defend against future Israeli aggression (and aggression from their other neighbors, who aren't exactly known for long term peace and stability).

Bernie sanders wrote up the most detailed plan, the Medicare for all bill, and he ran all of the numbers, it’s so much less expensive

“There should be nothing about us without us” has never sounded more APPLICABLE than when talking about the future of Post-2033 Gaza. (I am sure this expression has been around for years, but I first heard it at the 2018 World) community development conference in Maynooth Dublin Ireland, as expressed by one of our African colleagues Yeah, my first thought was OK blank and mentioned other Arab countries, but he did not mention Palestinian People/Leaders.

I wonder exactly HOW a hospital closes down from lack of water & fuel... like, where do bedridden patients go, when there are No other hospitals that will take them...like, do they just carry unconscious ppl out of their room downstairs & out the front door, n lay them down on the ground walk away

They get carried out if they can survive. Many die in the hospital because they need constant care or a reliable supply of meds to survive. Think how many people here would die if all the injured, difficult pregnancies, severely handicapped and chronically ill couldn't get proper healthcare anymore.
