I remember jumping off the school bus a few hundred mtrs from home and walking to the siding where the full bins of cane would be sitting. I would climb up and sit on top take some billets and peel the outer of the stem and sit there and chew on the sugary fibers... Spitting the waste out.. I would then tuck some sticks away in my bag and continue on my walk home. Also if you ever get the change to witness a cane fire in person. Its the most amazing thing. I remember when the paddock next to the house would go up. The breeze it would cause as it burnt all the oxygen up.. an amazing sight.

I am absolutely loving watching the Big Australia episodes. They are just fascinating and educational. My one point regarding sugar is...I live in the UK and "raw sugar" is called "golden granulated". I prefer golden granulated to the while sugar (which gives me migraines). Why then do I have to pay much more for the natural process of golden sugar than the refined white sugar which has to go through a much longer process (and more money to make it so)? This has never made sense to me.

I bet it smells wonderful, like a candy store.

Add another shot video to the list!!! Why they feel they have to turn down the volume of the commentator & crank up the volume of the music to overdub his voice is beyond me! They take a good video and ruin it is all it amounts to!
