Their playing is so tight, but sometimes I wish the bari was a bit louder. I love the booming low sound sticking out just a little bit from the rest of the voices.

The low fidelity of early sound recording technology did absolutely no justice to the complex and rich tonal quality of a saxophone section. It’s a shame digital recording didn’t really exist in the big band era.

I read in the paper about how some congresswoman carried a bill to cut funds for military bands, also your petition failed. That is soooo sad. I wonder if she ever saw/heard what you guys do, it's so inspiring she would pull the bill for sure!! What a fabulous recruiting tool! Everyone on this post is ready to join up right now! I could make a few PC incorrect comments about that lousy bill but I will refrain. As a sax player myself I have a real appreciation for how well you all play. I just wish I had your "saxophone standard" and "inside the big band" when I was starting out, I might have stuck with it! Fabulous, don't ever let them tell you you're not needed!
