David when you drop that trap they know it's over. Head knocking time. I imagine it's hard knocking the little ones in the head but little ones grow to be big ones. A hog is a hog. You are doing everyone a big favor ridding at least some farmers pests. Great job.

You're right David. Charge that battery. A fully charged battery should read 12.6 volts. If your battery has only 12.4 volts, it's only about half charged. If it reads 12.2 volts, it probably won 't work on a cold morning. Hot weather may kill your battery faster than cold weather. Good luck and may God bless you also.
@DavidEllisYawtYawt2 жыл бұрын
Got ya. Thank you. That’s where I been going wrong
@thomashubal59212 жыл бұрын
@@DavidEllisYawtYawt I forgot two other battery tips which may help. Don't fall for the 1000 CCA crank amps marketing mislead. Batteries with high crank ratings tend to be acid starved and don't last as long. 850 crank amps is a great compromise. If you severely discharge a battery and recharge it many times, it doesn't last either. Better to use a marine battery. Sorry for rambling after many years selling batteries. Thanks for your ministry.

I have a Marlin model 60, like the one you had in the side by side. Mines about 40 years old and it's never jammed, as long as it was loaded with CCI mini mags. But, I did repair one for my niece that was jamming. It was failing to eject the spent cartridge. I had adjust the ejector spring. There are some videos on KZfaq that explain how to do it.

Do you ever cook one of the striped piglets that you trap? If so, how is the best way to cook one, whole on a rotisserie or cut up? I figure the small ones might be great eating, with less chance of disease or worms. I'm curious on how to go about it, I may have opportunity to hunt soon on property that has some occasional hogs.
