I was induced at 39 weeks and had a great birth. Contractions were intense, and I was super thankful for my epidural! Induction started around 3AM and baby girl joined us just after 9PM Covid rules stink- but I also really enjoyed just my husband and I getting to spend the first day and a half on our own with her. Especially as a first time mom, it was just nice to figure out feeding and get to rest and relax and cuddle all we wanted to. So excited for you to have miss baby soon!

I've only ever heard good stories about inductions! My older brother was overdue so my mom had to to be induced to get him out and then when I came along she went ahead and scheduled an induction for me because she said it was so much better to have a date set, chill out, relax, not rush to the hospital, and get the epidural right when she wanted to - and it was over in no time! Hopefully this helps combat the more complicated induction stories you've heard. I can't believe Miss Baby is almost here! I don't think I could be more happy for a couple of internet strangers. I genuinely feel so proud of you for the journey you've been on and emotional at the thought of you finally getting your little unicorn baby (like a rainbow baby, but even more awaited?? idk just made that up). Lots of love and good vibes!

I'm all for inductions! I was induced with 1st baby, 3rd baby and 4th baby. All 3 times it was a breeze. After I checked in to the hospital baby was out in 8ish hours. Baby #2 came on his own at 38 weeks. I have never understood telling a pregnant woman horror stories about birth. It doesn't help or prepare her. It just makes mama stressed and anxious.

Just to give you a bit of hope, I showed absolutely no signs of impending labor and my water spontaneously broke at 38 weeks with my first. My second was also born right at 38 weeks but that was a whole different experience. As for your break, absolutely take as long as you need/want. But also remember you’re becoming a mother not a martyr. It’s ok to want and need to do things outside of baby. Some people enjoy that all encompassing feeling of motherhood and for some it can feel like a weight. There’s no shame in taking a break but there’s also no shame in discovering you need something outside of baby to fill your time. Everyone’s journey is different but “motherhood not martyrdom” is my favorite phrase and I wish someone had talked to me about before my babies were born!

I had no progression when I was pregnant with my son, which was my first and only pregnancy. I stayed dilated at 1 for 2 weeks, and finally my OBGYN decided to set a date to induce me. I went to the hospital at 5am on a Tuesday and I was still at a 1. They started my Pitocin drip at 7am. My water broke on it’s own at 8:10am, and I delivered a healthy 8lb 2oz baby boy at 11:20am and had lunch by noon. I pushed 3 times. Basically a textbook delivery. Every mom’s birth story is unique. Some maybe a little longer than others, but each one turns into a beautiful story. I promise whether your story is short like mine, or a little longer, she will be worth every minute. Congratulations to you and Grant. You both will be great parents.

I had my baby boy in April 2020. The hospitals were limiting visitors then. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, which was unexpected. Not having to worry about visitors was so nice. I was comfortable. I wore what I wanted. I had privacy while learning to breastfeed. It was wonderful and I will do the exact same thing for our next baby.

Hi Leigh Ann! It’s been so helpful and comforting to go through this with some one . I found out I was pregnant ( surprise!) after 16 years about 3 weeks after you. We are also having a baby girl, and I am also high risk due to age and some abnormal test results early on. I also feel lucky to see our baby girl at weekly high risk ultrasounds. In a way, I get to see what’s up ahead by watching your vlogs since our O.B’s seem to be following similar protocols. Thank you so much for the comfort and help you have provided by blogging the process , this internet stranger is so grateful! ❤️❤️ it’s really helped me get out if my head, and realize many women are going through the same things, and to not freak out as much about all the extra testing and precautions. I love the baby countdown.⏰🗓🤰 I just can't even believe it is growing closer. Don't let not having people in the hospital for the birth get you down. My sister-in-law had her baby just a few months ago and we facetimed minutes after she got back to her room and so many times until she came home two days later. What's most important is everybody being safe and you'll be reunited with your friends and family shortly after. Having that initial bonding time even though your family is so very important will lead to extra special moments💖💖

I chose to get induced for my mental health. I hate the stigma around getting induced instead of going into labor on your own. There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting induced. I LOVED being induced! There was no panic, we were prepared when we went to the hospital and it was all very calm.

The no guest rule is honestly pretty nice. Its so nice to just get rest and be alone with your new little family 💕

My sister was induced because of a pre existing condition and she didn’t have any issues. Your body can handle so much more than you think! Don’t be scared of child birth. You were made for this and you have the best birth partner that knows what you need. I can’t wait to meet Miss Baby. Talk to Miss Baby while occasionally making eye contact with the dog and doggie thinks it’s all about her!

I was induced at 39 weeks and 4 days because my water was leaking and I loved labor! I was having contractions but not progressing so I went in and had to get induced. I labored for 12 hours, pushed for 30 minutes and he was here! Of course going naturally is what everyone hopes for but if you do have to get induced, don’t let it stress you out. Was induced December 2020 with covid precautions. Looking back I was happy not having guests the first two days of my sons life it was so nice to just have time with me and my husband in the room since it was a huge adjustment. Also had our son 12 hours after being induced my induction was not planned but I loved it. I soaked up all the time I had left just my husband and I. The only thing that was weird was giving labor in a mask.

I was induced at 39 weeks. Best. Decision. Ever. Didn’t need Pitocin. Had a wonderful epidural, and after a very quick 9 hours I had a baby! It was hands down my favorite day ever. You will do amazing! Also, I can understand being sad about no visitors, but truly enjoy that time with just the three of you. I was so tired, trying to learn nursing/recover from birth and we had a steady stream of visitors. IT WAS A LOT. Once I heard about the no visitor thing when Covid started, I was secretly jealous that moms that gave birth during Covid got to have that day or two to just focus solely on themselves and baby!

My best friend recently delivered her second little babe and had an AMAZING induction. She loved it and did great! You and miss baby are going to do so well and it will be magical and wonderful! 🤍

I had my baby 4 months ago after scheduling an induction. It was the greatest decision I made, I went in so calmed and had my baby 7 hours later. It was also so nice to just be my husband and I those first few hours. No matter how long it takes and how painful it is, it’s all worth it. Best wishes

I had my baby November 2020- I wasn’t able to have guests visit post-birth. As sad as that was? It made the first visits with family so much more special! We got to visit in the comfort of my own home, where I didn’t have to worry about being extra-uncomfortable. You rock!!!

I had preeclampsia with both pregnancies and was induced for both of them. Labor and delivery was a breeze. I had very rough pregnancies so I was not expecting to have labor go as smoothly as it did but I was very happy it did. If the hospital lets you walk around, walk for as long as you can. Do a figure 8 with your hips often. Those two things helped me tremendously! Sending you all my love and positivity for a smooth labor and delivery! 🖤

Just pausing while you're talking about induction. I was induced because I was high risk, and I was terrified because I had heard so many people talk badly about inductions. It went so well though for me! It was long (because nothing was working) but once I had the Foley catheter, it all went quickly! You got this!! ❤️

I was induced with my first and it was fine, just a long labour. Ended up going into labour naturally the day before I was supposed to be induced with my second! That labour was such a breeze!! You should absolutely be doing what is best and safest for both you and Miss Baby!!

I loooooved being induced. My first went to 41w 6d. My second was induced at 41 weeks. My induction lasted only 6 hours. For real. I had an epidural the entire time so I felt almost no pain. The complete opposite of my first labor. I really want to get induced again.

I'm probably going to be like the millionth person who's told you this but, start drinking red raspberry leaf tea and taking evening primrose oil. The oil helps to soften the cervix which makes it favorable to changes and the red raspberry leaf tea helps your contractions to be stronger more effective and just helps along the whole process. I've been induced three times, and every time went off without a hitch. As long as your body is showing some signs of being ready you're going to be so close that I don't think you'll have an issue. Also, my sister only made it to 38 weeks so you never know your body may just decide it's time for Miss baby to come even before then! I absolutely cannot wait! I should probably bake cookies everyday until she comes!! 💜🥰

I had my son almost a month ago and we couldn't have visitors in the hospital. I LOVED IT. You are SO TIRED after birth, it just punches you in the face after about 24 hours. Especially when you're trying to breastfeed, it's so much easier not having visitors. You're constantly being interrupted by the nurses to check vitals anyway. It was so nice to be able to just sneak in a nap when I needed to in those first 2 days.

I was induced. The plus side was the knowing that it scheduled!! I love a plan. Birth is not a party but you will be just fine. Look at it this way, you have a firm idea of when you see sweet baby girl! 💕💕

Take your time, enjoy and treasure the newborn stage but don’t forget to take lots of photos and videos, my son is 12 and I feel so so sad when I try to remember what he sounded like, what he looked like (in detail) our memory isn’t that reliable so even if you don’t “vlog” keep those vids for your future self 💜 I wish I had done so but as a single mom it was hard to record stuff.

"IVF is harder than pregnancy", is a 100% true statement (most, not all pregnancies, of course). Granted mine was 23 years ago, and I had triplets, but I loved being pregnant, and after I delivered I MISSED having my babies safe inside of me and I felt lonely while they were just steps away in the NICU. The emotions, and mood swings, and pain, etc. of IVF is taxing and just not pleasant in any way. It is SO worth all of it though.
