Black and yellow garden spiders usually build their webs in fairly open areas as opposed to dense shrubs or inside shelters. Because all spiders are carnivores that feed primarily on insects, their presence helps rather than harms landscape and garden plants.

I have two big garden spiders in my garden I feed daily. They grow pretty quickly.

Except it's not just the mantis, he's got unlimited high ground thanks to you. It wouldn't even be a fight normally cause the mantis would never just walk into her web and the spider would already have bigger problems if she was walking around the garden but building a home.

That's not how it usually happens. What usually happens is that the mantis blunders into the spider's web while flying, and the spider will wrap it up and eat it! Otherwise okay video. I've seen flying preying mantises blunder into large spider webs and they will always lose to the spider, who instinctively wraps them up to eat.

The spider has common sense to know that the praying mantis wasn't worth the trouble It can simply wait for a bee or a moth to Tire itself out but a praying mantis can in some cases claw their way out of the sticky silk with their mandibles and spiky arms, even even some grasshoppers can use their spring-loaded Spike decorated back legs to kick the eggs out of spiders that try to come near them in the web Encounter with a praying mantis can end up with the spider losing some legs at best and losing a decent chunk of fresh at medium case scenario we're losing its life at worst case scenario Spiders will however gladly help themselves to a baby praying mantis or at most very small young one

It's predator vs predator, but the spider didn't seem to like being harassed with by a praying mantis like that. I guess the spider was too scared.

some Lame its comical...if the mantis is caught its lunch...take spider out of web, make it even. Most likely they will do what most predators do to other predators...walk away...

It is not right or fair to throw those insects in that web, bees and Praying mantis insects help the garden. Sure give him locusts and cucumber beatles and other such undesirables.

I will report you for trying to hurt one of God's best creatures, and plus I love praying mantises. and I will not tolerate this peace of crap!
