Anyone else watching this wishing they could go back to 98!

Anyone remember watching this getting ready for school and always being so annoyed you didn’t see the end? lol 😂 oh the memories ❤️

It says a lot about modern culture when I want to sit here and watch a breakfast show from the 90's....

Aw imagine waking up and putting this on to start off your day instead of listening to people argue about whatever crap thing is happening now. Bring back the Big Breakfast!!

The absolute zenith of breakfast TV of all time, Jonny & den - pure joy, with britpop and rave no social media, a positive buzz UK was such a dream place then I realise now.

Seeing this makes me hate everything about the times we're in.

90s teen here. Just discovered this video and now I’ve fallen in love with Denise all over again .

Currently watching at 8.15am 2023, flicking through other channels today makes you want to take your own life almost, bring this back and help lift the nation!!!!

This truly was the best time to be alive as a kid.. I used to watch this every morning, and then when I got home from school it'd be cartoon network with things like pokemon, or fresh prince on Trouble and simpsons on Sky One.. always flicking over to the music channels during the adverts like Kiss, The box, kerrang, mtv base Then saturday morning it'd be SMTV live followed by WWE in its prime and then from midday onwards it was a mix of playing outside like real kids, or playing n64, mega drive etc.. No phones or internet to ruin everyone's lives, just great TV, and toys and collectables like yo-yos, pogs, pokemon cards, tamagotchis, football stickers and random crap that you'd get in packs of crisps or cereals

Ahhh the late 90s, memories flooding back. 35 now but thinking about the stress free times, the years of trance, games like Zelda ocarina of time, goldeneye, etc. Sat there in my uniform watching this waiting to walk to school with my mates two of whom no longer with us. Amazing nostalgia watching this video. What has the world become since then? :( ugh....

No wonder I went school/college with a huge smile on my face back in the 90s.

Absolutely gutted took this period for granted. Loved this time, everything was bloody good and funnily enough with limited social bullshit media. This show epitomised everything positive about the 90’s, miss it so much , now everyone is so f###ing sensitive!

Watching this is like Will Smith in the scene from the film I am legend where he's watching recorded television in a post apocalyptic world. It's quite sad really. This show is still as sharp and witty today as it was back in 1998, in fact it's better. The world we live in went and took itself too seriously in the end, and what we're left with now is a world of offended people and zero humour. Morning TV was never really quite the same when this went off air in 2001, and TV generally slowly went south as well. This could never exist today without someone somewhere getting offended by it somehow, but it's still lovely to watch it and reminisce. Gone but never forgotten.

I LOVED THIS! Today's tv is so "by the book" and to the script... and boring. This was fun and full of energy. They both worked so well presenting together~ up for a laugh and it made for great viewing. Got to say, i liked DVO's top too ;)

Many people remember watching this show before going to school or work, but I can’t be the only one who remembers watching it after a night shift before going to bed.

When British TV was great. You could wake up to this on the box, better than a lot of radio breakfast shows! A great loss.

The late 80s and the 90s was the best, the show had a great 90s feel compared to anything they put on TV these days. Everyone knew how to party etc in the 90s and Christmas shows of the big breakfast was brilliant

I was 14 years old when this was on, in high school. They don’t make shows like this anymore, it’s just Piers Morgan moaning about everything on the Morning show😂🤨

I can't help but notice, just 5 minutes in, so many people have passed away. George Michael, Barbara Windsor, Lionel Blair, Mike Reid, *both* of the 'Two Fat Ladies', Jennifer Paterson Clarissa Dickson Wright. 1998 seems like yesterday.

Compare this colourful show with UK breakfast tv in 2019 , BBC blandness, piers morgans hate filled GMB and ch4 just shows sitcom repeats now. Very sad.

I actually recorded the last ever episode of this back in 2003... I was only 15!.... I shed a tear or 2 that day!... it was a very sad day!.. morning TV was never the same again!..

The good old days with proper banter. Rave culture and the Brit pop culture brought something special to the 90s. Things started to go downhill towards the mid 2000's

I like to sit and reflect about how this world was so different from now. This show happened in a world that existed before 911, before Iraq war, before the 2008 Stockmarket crash, before Facebook and the rise of social media, before Trump, before the smart phone, before COVID, before self driving cars, before the Chinese meteoric rise to power, before the decline of America, before Brexit, before antifa.

Often things seem better in your memory. I've watched some shows from my youth and I'm like 'meh, it's not as good as I remember' - which is fine. They were good at the time and the nostalgia is strong. The Big Breakfast with Johnny and Denise though... this is *still* top quality entertainment.
