BIG Canvas BLACK and Metallic Blowout ~ Abstract Acrylic Art / Acrylic Pouring / Fluid Art
So i felt the need to paint something bigger today! The final piece had more gray in it than i originally wanted, so to give it some extra pop i went in and added details with a paintbrush. That part is like art therapy for me.
Canvas is 24x48 in
Pouring medium: paint and water (30%~ by volume)

I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. The devil is in the details of this one. The original piece was a little busy so I added black shading as well as some contrasting white lines. Just wanted to go bigger than usual! As always, happy painting!

I have a pretty big wall in my living room and my living room is done in red, black, and gray. I was wondering if I could get with you to see if you could make me a painting with those colors in it. I like this technique, you'd get silkier, smoother results if you prepped your canvases with gesso. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Molly. After 30+ years (at age 65) I've started painting again because I watch a dirty pour video and got hooked. In an effort to learn as much as possible, I've been watching anything I can when I found you. I just wanted to let you know that you have really inspired me. Hi Molly. I was an art major in high school...A million years ago...lol. Got a lot of negativity because I didn't paint a tree that looked like a tree, so I gave it up. Dumb thing to do. But then I was drawn back in by an old friend. I've really gone crazy for Dutch Pour and can't wait to work up enough courage to do the big boy. Keep giving me ideas girl! Love your work!

Thank you for sharing. Does anyone else see the faces and the little elephant on the side? I love abstract painting like this. There are always little figures/faces/shapes that arise. My husband always notices faces in my paintings. It reminds me of looking for shapes in clouds. Phenomenal.

When I was in high school, I used to take fluorescent colors, and do this exact same technique! the effects under a black light, is awesome!

I wasn’t quite sure about this one, until you added the white. And holy cow!!! It’s stunning!! I have a huge canvas that’s been sitting in my living room in it’s packaging. I’m intimidated by it!! This is a great technique to try on it!! But it would be hell to scrape!! I’m always so impressed with your work and especially your authenticity!! 🐝 safe!!!
