+Thewasteland Pro Mods have usually used a Manual. But more uses automatics and 3 speeds now. But I think still Manual with Converter is the most used. Automatics are not faster shifting. But more consistent if you are not good at clutch adjustment and resufacing. The short answer is "automatics are easier to drive" and less time consuming. Pro Stock runs 4.18ish on 1/4mile passes, and thats clutch and a 5-speed. Top Fuel too runs a Clutch..

No matter how you look at it 0-190MPH in 4 seconds is insane. I've done 1/4mi in 10.6 @121mph on my bike and that felt fast as fuck.

It's absolutely Pontiac based. It does not have the same architecture as the chevy based Alum small blocks.

To me, I get that going 3's in the 1/8 is still a massive accomplishment, but the channel name is 1320, the amount of feet in a 1/4 mile. I expect 1/4 mile runs, not 1/8. So when I see 3 seconds I was mind boggled. Like 3 seconds in a 1/4?? But nope. I was let down a bit

All this time I was wondering who big chief was didn't know it was him. I've seen that name come up in a black car and even that car was running hard. I like watching that car run through no matter what color, he keeps it str8down the line. Seen him him mess up big though. People can learn from him. grudge races around here prefer the 1/8th....because it doesn't matter if you have the fastest car..in an 1/8th..you cant make ANY kind of mistake..in the 1/4..if you make a mistake and have the faster car..you can still catch them on the top end..in the 1/8th..its all driver skills...a lot funner and more intense

again you're Incorrect they run 1,000 for safety reasons in NHRA. This is not NHRA it's a event in the South where they mostly run 1/8mile.

+Mal Reynolds -- In NHRA National OR even Regional Division events, ALL cars run the FULL 1/4 mile except Top Fuel Dragster (TFD) and Nitro Funny Car (AA/FC) which run to 1000 feet instead of the full 1320. This began immediately following the race where Scott Kalitta was killed in his Nitro Funny Car at Old Bridge Township, NJ also known as Englishtown, NJ. The Top Alcohol Dragster (TAD) and Top Alcohol Funny Car (TA/FC) or (BB/FC) classes still run the full 1/4 mile.

Its a 70 GTO and there are more 1/8th mile races for lack of land for a bigger track and less money to build an 1/8 mile track. Hell the only pro class that still runs the 1/4 is pro stock. The fuel cars only run 1000 ft nowadays.....so it aint ALL about the 1/4 jerk weed

For me this is amazing because in México we use Kilometers instead of miles and watch a car running 400 meters in less than 4 seconds... a little bit faster than 100 meters per second... That's really damn mind blowing 👍

400 meters is right at 1/4 mile not 1/8 mile. He is running 3.99 secs in approx. 200 meters...not 400 meters
