Big Coyote in Central Park Watches Off Leash Dog

This big coyote was watching an off leash dog so I warned the owners and advised them to put their dog on leash. ( I then started videotaping.) Parks in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland have an abundance of Urban Wildlife including birds of prey so its always a good idea to keep your small pets on a leash and keep a good eye on them. *This video was taken in Central Park, Burnaby, B.C. Canada.

Gorgeous, saw her in front of my unit also, far away from central. She looks like a mini Shepard. Natural beauty.

Wow. That was a brazen coyote. The way he was sniffing the air seemed awfully suspicious, as though he expected to be fed. He was darn cute. I wouldn’t put it past some hikers to have tossed him some food in the past.

Scary! When we lived in Port Moody before, 3-5 coyotes were stalking my boyfriend and our small dogs from a distance. Someone else pointed it out to him.

My amstaff fought one today nothing happened coyote tried a bluff attack but my dog didn't react then chase then nothing stand off they we left

@@sonicbaseballzoodreams there are a lot of coyotes around here and there are a lot of reports of injured pets and the like, not to mention the farmers that complain about them taking their livestock.

@@oceanofjelly well, at least there are people that can help the coyote even though they're not endangered, but need rescued if abandoned by their parents if they're pups

Keep your dogs on a leash . Don't mess with inner trail progress and light features( nothing over 3'). Some jerk thinks the park is for him and his lil fur ball. If you are a walker stay in the prowled path for your safety and full comfort.

This is NOT New York, it is in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. But I'm sure New York has its coyote problems.

Why aren’t coyotes taken out of parks??? That is bad for unaggressive wildlife, pets, AND people!

Danielle G. I grew up in the woods. Our family vacations were always in primitive cabins. I know more than many. The wild outdoors was dad’s sanctuary. It’s beautiful, and it’s wonderful, but only a fool enters without respect for its laws. Most people are oblivious to the true nature of wildlife and the nature of the woods. It is bewildering how little people generally know of the laws of the wild and its creatures. Wonderful it is, and dangerous. I have a friend who served as ranger in a national forest. Some of the stories she told me, I would not repeat for gore. Her esteem for most hikers is extremely low. Be well, be safe, and stay healthy.

@@dlou3264 Dogs are supposed to be on leash at all times. 9pm to 9am except when they’re at dog runs.
