Agreed! I grew up listening to Kane in junior high so I'm from that era also. I think the excessive emphasis on fact checking, at the expense of the quality of the bar, is something I can't get into. Comedians, rappers, singers, actors, etc. all bend the truth a bit (sometimes a lot), but it's supposed to be entertainment at the end of the day. I like Kendrick's style better, but Drake did hit him with some good bars that people don't want to acknowledge.

Love that the legends (Kane, MC Eiht) aren't falling for Drake and his fans' shenanigans--feels like a real culture shift amongst both them and the fans alike. The real issue is what Kendrick really said concerning the industry and painting that picture on Drake for being the face that is being used for promoting the garbage that mainstream rap has become. He exposed not only Drake but the corporations that have infiltrated the Hip Hop culture and many of these rappers are sell outs because that's where they are eating from. You can rap about anything else but once you start touching on deep industry issues you become a threat to the system. That's why Kane is stuttering because he knows Kendrick was speaking sensitive issues about the whole hip hop culture and the beast feeding it and he can't speak much on it because most of these guys are puppets to the entertainment industry.

Drake is not a writer, and that was obvious. Kendrick whooped Drake azz lyrically. This was a battle that was unmatched. Kendrick was that quiet storm that came out of nowhere, and the consequences were severe. J. Cole apology showed he is not a man of his word, and had he stood 10 toes down, it would have shown his level of integrity or character. This generation is thin-skinned/ severe symptoms of inadequacy/ low self-esteem/ low self-worth and does not know how to understand or deal with dislike / discord/ cancel culture / confrontation. ( when your whole self worth is dedined by algorithm and man made like button, it speaks volumes of where you are maturity wise and how far you need to go( everyone doesnt have to like you/ validate your experience or existence/ talk to you or engage/ be in one accord with you) Dislike/ disappointment/ learned helplessness/ victim mentality/ victim voyeurism is of epidemic portions. When you stand on principle, nothing else matters. Yes, the battle was personal, and so was 2pac. HIT em up/ against all odds/ why you,turn on me/ troublesome 96. But with 2pac, those were his livid experiences, and he didn't do subliminal disses. He named checked everyone as they came. Drake uses of ghost writers room is essentially putting him on the same level as Diddy 2.0 as far as career. We all know Diddy isn't a writer or great lyricist and the man that doesn't recieve the credit they deserve is Mase as he is the orchestrator and brains behind those songs with Diddy. Mase made Diddy care had it not been for Mase we wouldn't have Diddy as a rapper or struggle rapper.
