Can you explain: Psychological rape, Financial rape, Moral rape, Emotional rape, Physical rape, intimidation rape, gossip rape, entrapment rape, social rape, economical rape, patriarval rape, abusive rape, sexual rape... I think most people have got a one dided perspective of tjis matter rape , it appears one sided...? When people omly look at one side: Majority of the above are done by women infact: The rapest is often the women when you look at in an inquisitivitely...? The word rsp mesns to take! Honesty is important also... As is programming on both sides by media etc... Not all men will find you attractive, infact only a tiny amount of women will be attractive to many men? I think it is important to not get to obsessed by the sway of western culture and trends... Paronoia, Psychological deficiency and emotional instability is also a programme. Would be interesting to know when rape started in Africa? It appears someting which was broughy in by western kind.. Imagine you are on your way home late in the *evening* and you see a women, so you *stop walking* to let her go first, so after a minute you continue walking again down the street and another women enters the street in front of you from a side road; So you stop again walking to politely let her continue her walk ahead: So you continue your walk again after a few minutes, making sure you are not walking behind anyone vulnerable. You turn down another street and there you are walking behind yet another women whom is walking in front and just exit their address. So again you stop and wait to allow the women to feel safe walking: You are just about to start walking again and a women comes to her front door staring at you furiously: She asks why you are standing outside her home you explain and then start walking again. several people enter the road walking in diferent directions. Another women is walking in front of you. You stop and question when will you finally get home? *True story*

it's been 4 years since this debate aired & this epidemic of South African men rapping women is still prevalent and it's honestly disappointing & disgusting. South African men do better

Young boys are also raped. The issue of rape is very sad. Raping young children, grandmothers, babies is disgusting. There isn't excuse for rape whether man or woman, that is unacceptable.

I love the debate and I love all the points raised. But there was an overlooked aspect of the topic "Women who falsely accuse man of rape". Everytime when I talk about this subject I get bashed and get labelled that I condone rape. But women(even though they are a minority) who falsely accuse man of rape should stop using rape as a weapon to strike against men. "Innocent until proven guilty" still does exists, rather than"guilty until proven innocent". But really should really come to an end

At least South Africans agree that it's happening and trying to do something about it rather than hide it from the world like countries such as India. There are horrific cases where women, babies and children are raped but killed in horrific ways.

Might be because it is a mix of people from different tribes with different mother tongues, which in turn influence the accents (and of course it depends what school you went to 😜).

Because they probably live in different parts of the country. If you came to the UK, there’s even different accents within the same city. That probably applies to most countries in the world I think.

every time when the topic of rape is addressed, and also other issues that affect our nation. the the matters are always over looked. Generalization is toxic, very toxic. The one who judges must weighs matters and hear both side before striking. we have citizens who are raised well, and societies that are taught to respect and love indeed and in truth.

It is 6 years+ since this debate. I unfortunately we I have missed it. This is what I would like to share though, men in particular black men, were taught how to be Leaders, not in academic institutions but in black rich culture which made them to protect women in their most vulnerable position of barebreasts and little to cover their bodies ( just front covers). There were fewer incidences of premarital sex/Child or rape. It was a black culture of near nakedness that groomed Leaders to be Leaders as back in the time, no rapist was tolerated or allowed to lead any community. Men respected and protected their Women, with their breasts out, it is no wonder that coincidentally to high rate of rape we also have weak Black Leaders...ability to control ones sexual desires, gives strength/power to one's Leadership / success. Dressed or naked, there is no excuse for rape...but rape is mirror which is a reflection of how rich / poor we are as a Social and the type of Leadership, we have.

The debate was about rape _ not about people that are falsely accused of rape. Alhough... they did touch on the issue. It does not happen that often that women will accuse men of safe maybe for political purposes. The reason it does not happen often is the same as why women do not report rape. There must be lots of money or other incentives involved to move a women to that. There may be some cases where a women may accuse falsly to shame a man but that is unlikely to end up in a court. All in al the discussion was on a high level. The only thing that worries me is the remark that certain cultural features should be excluded from judgement. No culture is above criticism. We do have a common humanity with basic ethical rules that transcend cultural trends and traditions. Cultures spontaneously change over time in any case - so challenging a specific cultural practice should be allowed and expected. Racism was for example a feature of Afrikaner and British culture. No one would argue that that is untouchable.
