probably my favourite thing about this special is the fact that they FINALLY put in place what the deal with the secret identities is and why they can’t easily tell who each other is.. i swear that had been nagging me for years😭..

The voice actors had to record in there homes during the pandemic so there is a change in quality plus it’s a movie so of course everything is higher quality but some voices were replaced like Nino who is now played by Zeno Robison who plays “Hunter”

Fun fact: There were supposed to be more focus on the side stories in this special like Sabrina's crush on the American boy, Ms. Mendeleev's arc of being a nicer teacher and Mr. Damocles learning about being a superhero from those in New York but they weren't able to due to a shortage of time in the special so we were left with small tidbits that led to nothing.

Some of the American superheroes are based on actual superheroes of the comics. Majestia is like a cross between Superman and Wonderwoman, Knightowl is based on Batman, Sparrow is based on Robin, Victory (the USA presidente) is based on Captain America... Also Majestia, Knightowl and Sparrow have already been mentioned in the main series. Majestia was Alya's favourite superhero before Ladybug and Principal Damocles' The Owl alterego is based on Knightowl (since he is a fan)

If I'm remembering correctly, the reason why everyone's voices were changed a little was because of the pandemic. Since they couldn't be in a professional studio with equipment, they had to make do with what they had at home. And Nino got a new voice actor. Our boy, Zeno Robinson, but we also know him as Hunter from the Owl House! I do miss Nino's original VA, but I also like his new voice. They both work pretty well for him. And hearing Zeno's voice (whether it's now on Miraculous or Big City Greens or Craig of the Creek or Pokemon) really helps with Owl House withdrawals haha.

There being multiple miracle boxes were foreshadowed in feast where it’s said the fu was give “the very LAST miracle box”. Also, magestia was first shown in origins as alya’s favourite super hero, and once again used as animastro many animated transformations. The current miracle box Marinette has is the strongest of all.

It was confirmed on "Feast" there was more Miraculous and Miracle Boxes. Since this special is the bridge between season 3 and 4, the Guardians are back as well. That monk is the Guardian of the Native American Miracle Box. The side drawers have Miraculous of the Native American Zodiac animals, the four that form a circle at the top are from the Native American Medicine Wheel (including the eagle) and at the center there is the Thunderbird Miraculous.

As an American, I found it funny how these characters that live in Paris talk about how romantic New York is. The grass is always greener on the other side

CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 4.

The fact that everyone in the US has powers is a bizarre representation of how the rest of the countries see them, like do you know any other superheros from other countries (beside Miraculous)? The world only knows superheroes from the U.S it seems they are all there. Every time the "world" is in danger the US seems to be the focus of all the attacks. It is something that we the rest of the countries always make fun of. Even those heroes who are from other ethnicities, they are ALWAYS IN THE US or they are created by people in the us (like Marvel or DC for example). So yeah, it a clever way to show from a French writer perspective how the US is basically protrayed for us, the rest of the world when it comes to superheroes, so ridiculously full of superheroes.

In a year or two, we'll see New York again. Marinette will help Sparrow and the Shanghai newbie for a night mission, and Ladybug will help the Ghostforce (an ongoing show that takes place in New York) for another situation.

Some extra fun Easter eggs! Majestia's wife is based on Christina Vee Irl! And both Dana Terrace and Alex Hirsch made a cameo in this special!

When you get to watch Shanghai, keep in mind it happens before season 3. You'll also really like a new character introduced in there :p

Nino and Max’s voice actor, Benjamin Diskin, abstained the role so that a POC actor can take up the mantel, and henceforth Zeno Robinson will be voicing them in season 4 and onward. Ben will be returning to voice his other minor roles.

Natalie is bedridden because of the broken peacock miraculous, like Gabriel said in the season 3 finale she had used the last of her strength

Something I didn't realize until I watched the first season again is that Alya references Majestia in Stoneheart when expressing her obsession for superheroes.

For help in understanding the themeing of the new Miracle Box and its miraculous. As well as based off of the main animals that were important for all Aboriginal cultures found in North America.

i’ve been here since u first reacted to miraculous ladybug, cant believe ur almost starting season 4!

Everyone has the same voice actors except for Nino and Max due the fact that the actor who played both characters was white and felt it would be more appropriate for an actor of color to play them so he stepped down. The rest of the actors recorded from their homes during the pandemic so the recording wasn’t as high quality as usual. But overall this was still a really good special!💖

The reason for Knightowls voice thing is not only intimation but because all the previous knightowls and Sparrows were Men and they wanted to keep the legend of the Nightowl being immortal instead of a title being passed on.

I don't know if you noticed or said anything about this, but when the eagle miraculous was used both times there were 2 different transformation phrases. this confirms that there are different phrases based off of the use of the miraculous, when used for evil its "Wings of Prey" when used for good its "Wings of Liberty". I'm pretty sure the phrase only works based off intentions so that makes Gabriel's phrase for Hawkmoth "Darkwings Rise" instead of something different.

Master Fu said there were other miracle boxes, and by extension other miraculous, back in Feast. Word of god had also stated before this special aired that there were lost miraculous. The Order of the Guardians has been loaning out miraculous for centuries. Unfortunately they don't always manage to recover them and they sometimes get lost. What's more the Order of the Guardians was destroyed by Feast over a century ago. They have been gone all this time and were only recently revived during the events of Feast. They don't know what's going on or even how the outside world has chanced in their absence. I don't know if the Guardian who showed up at the end was revived in Feast or if he is from a surviving branch that was away from the main temple at the time. He might of been acting like Master Fu had and guarding the box in his care or had been given the duty from his master.

BTW New York came after Shanghai canonicaly

I really love this movie. and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but did the visuals enhance a bit with this movie, because something about this feels actually cinematic aesthetic-wise…

This is the first time we've seen super powers that have nothing to do with a miraculous. I get they are suppose to be expies of American superheroes, but I can't help but wonder how they got their powers. Granted it is likely different for each one. Uncanny Valley is a robot and Night Owl and Sparrow are gadget based heroes, but we have a bunch more. This isn't the first time we've seen Night Owl or Majestia, but the way they were framed it seemed they might of just been from in universe comics. Night Owl even had a comic.

I feel bad for the power ups they just got shafted after season 2 like yeah we still saw the aqua and ice powers but I wish we saw the transformations at the end of the special when the missile was heading towards France instead of just using Majestia it felt very anti climatic. I hope we see more of Aeon and Jessie along with the Native American miracle box it be interesting to see what the other miraculous powers are (ik they are confirmed to come back in a special with the character in Shanghai but we don't know if those miraculous will be involved)

From what I gather based on the color scheme and pattern on the inside of the box the North American Miracle Box is based on the Native American Medicine wheel. My theory is the miraculous' represent the four cardinal directions. So the Buffalo for the North, the Wolf for the South, the Bear for the West, and the Eagle for the East.

Every miraculous special is really good Zamber we did learn that there are more miraculous boxes that were eaten by feast and now they are all free this is no spoiler but there is A LOT of miraculouses like the jungle miraculous a ocean miraculous etc

Majestia is literally Superman and The Dark Owl is literally just The Batman with Sparrow as her Robin. Even Uncanny Valley, as a synthetic person, mirrors Superboy (Kon El), in the fact that he's a clone. It almost seems as if the show ships SuperBat, given that Majestia and The Dark Owl are married.

i think the voices are differnt as its a little more budgeted and clean cut, almost in the sense in pokemon show/movie in the movies the animations are more detailed

We've already got an eagle, but the US really doesn't have any other animal mascots, maybe some armadillos with shield powers. Canada can offer a moose with the power of majestic, or a Canadian Goose with the power of being a huge jerk (peace was never an option).
