Please stop picking on Scottie. He donates time and effort to help the piggies too, so his heart is in the right place. Don’t be so critical. I have no doubt you’re hurting his feelings by posting these nasty comments while he’s trying to help in a busy/confusing situation and thanking people who are willing to help the shelter.

I actaully rather enjoy Soctty's commentaries and mannerisms, it keeps things entertaining. I mean it is a live stream after all, it's basically 2 hours of raw footage. Besides if peeps really cared so much about this info they're seemingly missing out on, due to Scotty's talking, there's probably dozens of better videos on this channel that cover the educational side. It's just not practical to try to extract that level of information from a 2 hour live stream. Moral of the story: Screw the haters, keep doing you Scotty mah man.

I appreciate Scotty interacting with people, but he does never stop talking, and the most important thing are the piggies, Ursula came to say the baby boy was healthy and he didn't stop talking about the chat to let us know how the pig was. Saskia and Geraldine were making the health checks and telling us what was going on with the pigs but we couldn't really hear because he wasn't focus on the piggies. I wish he could stop a bit when he's recording. The tour in the back with the rest of the animals was fun, he does a great job, it's only when he talks a lot when something interesting is taking place.

Unfortunately, yeah he ruined it all for me as he TALKED WAY TOO MUCH, said the same thing over and over and over and over with that stupid laugh, blocked what we were trying to see and was just too annoying. This also happens on too many of your videos especially after he made sure we saw him. I want to see not to listen to him. I don't find him funny either. I will have to mute all your videos now which is sad as I wanted to know about how they are handled NOT TO LISTEN TO SOMEONE WHO SOUND LIKE HE DOES HAVE ADD.

This process is so interesting and educational but so much extra chatter makes it very hard to hear and to concentrate on what’s happening. Breaks my heart but warms my heart at the same time. You guys do amazing work! My family has had three piggies for over a year now and we just got two more from a family that wasn't taking care of them. Their cage was infested with bed bugs, they were extremely skittish and these two sweet boys hadn't had any fresh veggies or fruits, they had no idea what to do with the bell peppers i tried to give them. After just a few days they have gotten to the point where they take the veggies and fruits from my hand. Now we're going to work on bonding with them and taming them. I've learned a lot from your videos and Scotty's videos. ❤️

It’s astonishing that even shelters can mis-sex piggies. I adopted a piggy last year & minutes into our journey back home, my 14 year old discovered she was really a he. I’ve learned to re-check all piggies, no matter what. I trusted that an experienced rescue would know, never again. I always double check. We have 18 sows, so a male amongst them would be a catastrophe. Luckily we caught it before we brought them home.

I have been caught a few times buying females, only to get them home and find they are males. I think some people do it on purpose to sell males.

Thank you for taking in all those piggies! I hope they find good homes soon. Also, someone asked how much hay does a piggie need..we have 3 and go through about 20 pounds a month. Some of it goes in the trash with twice daily spot cleaning. We always keep our hay feeder full. You guys are so awesome!!

Enjoyed watching. 👍 Hope little Tractor and all the piggies who just arrived get stronger every day. ❤️ I can't believe how expensive it is to get a male piggie neutered there. 😮 I live in Germany and the price we paid for our rescued male (40€) was simply to cover the procedure and all the males they adopt out are neutered. I don't even think they will allow an adoption if males will be living together. Now this rescue is much smaller than LA GP Rescue so it's easier to do it that way. Anyway, thanks for sharing another Saturday at the rescue! ☺️

I love that we get the opportunity to see this behind the scenes work. I love that you guys were able to take in these wee beasties so they can have a brighter future. I love that although the LAGPR folks see so many guinea pigs day in and day out, they still get excited and squeal about the new arrivals. All these things are super cool. What’s not super cool is random people making demands of these volunteers and telling them how to do their videos. “Tell Scott to shut up” is a theme that’s been in the comments for like a year now and it’s getting old. It’s really not that difficult to be kind. If you don’t have something nice to say -

I don't think people are being unkind. The main theme I am seeing in the comments is that they can't hear important information about the guinea pigs or answers to some the questions that they have because of excessive talking.

Some comments are nicely asking to hear Saskia. But, if I were new to this community, My herd would have turned tail and RAN!! It doesn't take much to choose your words more carefully. Mean people, especially the ones making fun of a disorder (!?!) need to live alone somewhere, without pets too!! That's just ugly.

I would so adopt one but my hubby said no! That my son River has one and that's enough for the family 🤣! River doesn't even live with us anymore and Zeus his gp is about 6-7 yrs old and he is fat and don't move much anymore even though he is pampered and spoiled! You guys are awesome 😎!!!!!

The vitamin C dose is 50 mg per piggy. Children's liquid vitamin C that is 250 mg per teaspoon ( 5 mL or cc = 1 teaspoon) so 1 mL or cc would = a 50 mg dose.

This is what I just went threw and I feel so bad for the boys. They are still stuck out there in Santa Fe biting each other bec she has them all together. Over 15+ males together feral. There's alot of ears chewed as well. I have no idea what I am going to do with the females with chewed ears and I picked up 2 males just bec I felt awful getting all girls. I was trying to get all pregnant GUINEA'S but only got 2. No one helped but a few people. I even got a punch of free veggs and texted her about it and all she says is, "don't let it go to waste." Yes, Scotty is so write. You for sure need veggs. A month of veggs in feral, scurvy, dehydrated Guinea Pig's gave them vitality, shinny & longer hair. There ears even look a bit better. Your probably thinking why can't I adopt..Well, I have 9 Guinea Pig's and a Rabbit. Also, 2 hamster's and 3 dogs and puppies. If I take them to a shelter, they might kill them. They don't deserve that.... Or I would so call on that lady. She even admitted they die after getting bit in the butt. Errr! She started off with just 2!

I never had guinea pigs, I've only ever glanced at them at the pet stores. Thanks to your channel I have learned so much! Are the babies really that large when they are born? I had to look it up. Whoa! They sure are precocious. I've only ever seen rats or rabbits, who birth tiny tiny babies.

Yes never feed foxtails...my hay was loaded with them before I knew, and eleven of my pigs received hay pokes to the eye and I was pulling those foxtails out. Lots of eye flushings and antibiotics and one piggy almost lost his eye. Always check for foxtail. Nasty stuff..❄️🐾❄️

Please give Scottie a break. In the first place, he does the cleaning of the barn and many chores in the background. He loves those piggies and doesn’t talk anymore more than the girls. For real. Sounds like a personal preference to me.
