Just want to thank you for covering such a wide spectrum of info on tree work, saws and axes. I’m your basic homeowner with about 4 acres and i do have tree work to be done. I’ve been dreading it but now, not so much. Thanks for putting into words, that homeowners can understand, the do and don’t s and the tricks of how to do it safely and efficiently . I’m actually looking forward to the tree work! Thanks for your kindness and you! Be safe and Buck on!

Hi Buckin Billy, I learned to "flek" wood with an axe when I was a kid. An old Canadian friend named Tommy Poulan taught me. The tip of the axe goes in a short way on a swift swing, but the body of the axehead is off kilter and wants to tumble over, thus exerting a huge force of leverage against the grain of the bucked log being split. I am not schooling you, I am sharing what I understand about the way it works. I love to walk around a big red oak round and flek it into a stack of "one handers". Thats what I call firewood you can pick up with one hand. I sure enjoy your enthusiasm for benevolence, I have that too. Smiling, George.

My dad use to work 3 jobs never take a vacation, was the first one to crawl on you back, About everything. Now, I have kids, he's there Instructor, there friend, mentor. Your dad watches Ganges, like a flock of hawks. He watches you by a slight glance. Just like my dad. Its hilarious, your sweating, in the tree's and he's cool in the shade. Your buying coffee and donuts for them. I call it role reversal. I'm so happy I'm not alone, I got a twin brother in Canada. Its you!, ha ha. Much love to everyone, keep it up, you make me smile.

Wow, just a 30 minute video and you take us into beautiful scenery, climb the tree, say some hilarious things, limb the tree going up, say a few funny things then get super serious, go into to teaching mode with some nice old school advice, drop the top in the perfect spot.... Man, i am blessed just finally to watch Buckin Billy videos and to keep up with the latest. Eventually will binge watch a lot that i haven't seen. Being kind and expressing love is a mantra that i learned years ago, but to have it put back into my face with some exciting hard work in the trees, in the shop, on the drums, jammin the harp, etc etc... Modern day mentor is a reformed fella from Canada who is giving us an insight from a grateful heart. Yay Billy man, i hear ya loud and clear from where the land meets the sky.

I do love the motivational text you’ve edited in to the opening scenes, great timing as to when grabbing someone’s attention isn’t annoying! Then, let us lapse into geeking put on the splitting, bucking and hardware discussions...!! Funny that the biggest saw-work I was ever involved with was rail ties for rosebeds, and clearing downed limbs after storms, but it’s all a fascinating process! And not a curse uttered - congratulations for - ahem - “bucking” pop-culture trends, staying on message, and chasing the blues everyday! Pay it forward, faithful troops, snd do s random kindness for somebody ya’ve never met! Peace, Grace & Love everybody! 👍❤️❗️😁

Hey Buckin, I just started out climbing with spurs, I had to remove a dead redcedar tree, a small one (about 40 feet high). When I came near to the top it was small and hard to keep balance, removing the side branches with the chainsaw wasn't a problem but making the notch and back cut for the top was really hard with the chainsaw I felt like the saw was pushing me to the side, maybe because it was dry wood and hard to cut or maybe my chain wasn't very sharp anymore...
@anthonyfoster3033 жыл бұрын
You may want to switch to pole spurs instead of tree spurs! Two tree spurs that high might just chop that tree down. Lol! Great job just be careful and say your prayers every morning.

But hardwoods, why set up SRT or spur all the way down? leave a stub, repel repeat, worst case scenario? u have to cut a little peg off a log big fukin' whoop glad to see a fellow Canadian doin this shit, mad props
