his kid is what his pops is . He aint gonna give a fuck . Thats you who think if you had this dad your life would be better . Buckin's son doesnt give a fuck about his daddy being special or not . He is just living his life bru just like you and me ! Do you think your dad is special ? No . For buckins kid your dad may appear special to his eyes while in yours he aint . See what am saying ?

Yes, I look back on all the things my dad and I done together when he was alive and in good health. I cherish every memory of those occasions that seemed so ordinary at the time. Now, they are priceless. And Mr. Smith's son does think his dad is special! Had he not, then he'd be doing other things instead of working alongside his dad. This is clearly a show of the love and respect that a son has for his dad. 🙂

Billy Ray, these are the kind of videos I enjoy most. Not only do I like the tree climbing, but I really like the explanations you give regarding rigging. You explain why and how you do what you do very well. Please do more of these. I'm 64 years old and a complete novice, but I learn a lot watching you. Thanks friend!

The mumbling is where the true knowledge lies, reminds me of listening to my grandfather and the old welders and carpenters I used to work with! I love you channel, I am a young arborist, do line clearance for work but pick up side jobs. The knowledge of the older generations is often passed off as unsafe, but I love learning your techniques because you guys d8dnt have all of the fancy equipment we do these days.

Buckin I need to thank you. I've been watching your channel for years. I've had a love for power saws for awhile but only ever on the ground. But not much longer! I'm a young 39 years old and have decided to learn a new skill. Bought some used Buckingham climbing gear, spurs, saddle, ropes, etc and I'm teaching myself to climb! (With your help of course) so thank you!! I've learned so much about saws and sharpening chains from you already, now I'll be learning to climb! I have a few huge white pines on the property that will be on the ground, chopped into fire wood before I turn 40!! Thanks again for your help and inspiration. I feel like a kid again excited to learn a new skill and save a ton of money in the process!

Dude I would never usually tell someone what to in the tree world because that's what everyone already does. Let alone ever take time to comment on a social media page. But it drives me absolutely insane that when I was learning from all these pros and badass climbers, that they never taught me the one thing that made climbing go from feeling impossible to absolute cake. They like to let you learn on your own and struggle like any boomers really haha. But dude when you are in the tree from the first two steps all the way to transitioning to splits and moving around the tree. Put your safety strap on and PUSH AGAINST THE TREE WITH YOUR ARMS. Your natural reaction is to hug the tree. Stick that ass out and push against the tree. It's the difference between being capable of doing the tree comfortably, or being terrified and frustrated and having to come down n give up. Trust that rope brother n good luck to you.

I have watched a buddy cut trees to drop without climbing when they are open areas along with him climbing too but he never had time to really show me or explain alot. I always asked questions which helped me Two months ago when i dropped my first tree which was 85 feet. Landed it 2 feet away from hitting the house luckily but after a cose call I have been educating myself to become better.. love your approach to facilitating your ground men, rigging techniques, and the way you explain the best way to keep the process moving while staying safe. I got out of tree work for a few years bc I thought I needed to do something different. There's an aspect of fear and anxiety before you are positive you can do any job without any problems. When you are working your way back down a tree and once you fell it, there is a sense of relief and accomplishment that I'm not sure how you can find in any other occupation. It's a drug and it's addictive. Do shit safe friends and find that high. And watching guys like Buckin and August are gonna show you ways to get there more efficiently.

I really enjoyed this video, and others you have done and this video helped me to understand a bit about rigging without pulleys and over expensive hardware that isn’t always necessary. I don’t necessarily use tree spikes, I use a climbing rope and another rope as a safety in case one breaks or as a means to navigate around a tree so I can relocate my main climbing line. Thanks for showing everyone your videos and your work and some education. Very inspirational stuff

@@dylanstumbaugh356 I work for a family business and there are two family members who usually take turns in the bucket so I have been a ground guy from age 17-22. I was waiting for my turn and now I'm stepping up and getting up in the trees

If you have 2 prusics then u can adjust both so u don't always have to move the 1 prusic back and forth. Works great and is fast when the tee is not really big.

Hhhmmmmm, let me ask you this, how many total attachment points will be on the flip line?
@megadosevitaminc8774
@megadosevitaminc8774 4 жыл бұрын
@@jolkraeremeark6949 you could do 3 or 4. 4 would be best but you could have the prusics together if u had a little slack. I ended up going to 2 flip lines. My 12 foot steel core. And a 18 to 20 foot rope. Each with 1prusic. I found the 2 in 1 with 1 prusic kinda hard on smaller trees with no limbs to throw up in. Always holding myself while I try to slide the prusic. Just the way I like it, all kinds of ways it can b done.

@@megadosevitaminc8774 my flip line has a snap fixed to one end but not the other. I would like a snap on both ends, is that possible? The steel core flip line has a thimble on both ends but a snap hook on only one end.

@@jolkraeremeark6949 I have a snaphook on both ends. I tend to go overboard with safety sometimes. But with them on both ends you can move around to different hookups. I have even hooked both flipline together to get to another tree. That's another thing about having 2 lines, you can hook together. With a 2 in 1 if you cut 1 side then the prusic can slide right off if not careful. I have cut part way through lines a couple times. Nice to have a total separate line. I will get a video of my setup sometime. May not be useful justin like it. Mictopulleys 4 slack tending is awesome too.

Here I am again Al the chicken. Watching you up that tree leaning back on the rope my mouth is hanging open and my breathing is shallow. Not being afraid of heights is a gift. Love watching you and your young lad working away. Thanks Buckin and happy Thanksgiving. I hope you day is filled with family and love. Al
