Thanks Tyler! The system over here is really getting a mixed response, I may interview people for a video to get an opinion. I’d say it’s 50/50 on whether they like it or not.

@@berniebarnesgolf Yeah change is always hard! I’m sure when people play well and it goes down quick they like it, but when they have a bad month and it goes up a lot I’m sure they’d prefer the old system. Not being a competitive player, best I ever got to was a 4, it never was a big deal to me, but for people who play tournaments a lot I get their concern.

That’s a pity that you don’t play in competitions Frank, but I do agree with most of what you’ve said. I guess as long as you still enjoy your golf then that’s the main thing!

@@berniebarnesgolf I think it would be very interesting experiment.. a friend of mine is getting criticised at the minute as he went to Scotland for a week, played links golf (about 7 rounds) on difficult courses that he didn’t know.. put every score in and went from 8 up to 11, came back and won 2 majors at his club with others calling him cheat when he did nothing outside of what the WHS says he can do.. for me as a low handicapper the system is too erratic.. 🙈

This is exactly the issue with the system! I put a card in every round and now I’m being told that it has to be so many competition rounds! It changes every week!

I can’t just blame the weather, I’ve not preformed either Phil.

Thanks mate. The AA man said a similar thing, topped it all up and sent me on my way saying don’t use the brake or clutch much on the way home and take the car to the garage in the morning. Unfortunately It happened again 1/2 mile later so had to be towed to the garage. The garage can’t look at it until Monday.

I’ll be playing in competitions too mate! The majority of my rounds are in the weekly comps on a Wednesday and a Saturday.

I’m not sure to be honest, I would expect my best scores to be between rounds 6-10 as generally if I play a little more I play better. I’m pretty sure I’ll be struggling physically on rounds 16-20 so I’m not expecting them to be great. It will be interesting to see.

also.. I got down to a +4 with a terrible short game. You can get to scratch with the struggles... you just have to hit lots of fairways and greens... which goes back to the shaft level/parallel stuff. ;) *** here is something to try with your short game stroke, that has been very good for my own woes... keep the butt of your grip pointing to your right hip, from address, right thru the back swing, and follow thru. You won't get any forwards shaft lean, and will be able to work the bounce. Effective for chipping with low lofts and short pitches, and pitches out to 25 - 30 yrds or so with high lofts. Was a game changer for me. Cheers.

@@berniebarnesgolf Yes..middle of season is a hectic time to incorporate new things. Just keep it in mind if things get going pear shaped. Having the club in the right orientation at level/parallels can make up for when the body action isn't spot on.... and your misshits will produce better results. Hitting fairly good "bad shots" is as important as hitting good shots to drop those last couple hcp strokes ;) Cheers Lester.
