People have no idea the burden a business owner carries on his shoulders. Hes responsible for his own pay check, and every employees pay check, has to make sure all the bills get paid on time or the wheel could stop turning, and he has to constantly think of or come up with the next project, job, etc. I never admired anyone that just wants to collect a paycheck.

Holy smoke is that the Carolina Boy up North . Good to see you guys helping each other . Every time I see that Big 850 working , I want one . Impressive. Here in Hawaii , I deal with volcanic rock of about 50/50 or more , hard to go more than 50 feet without getting hard stopped and need a hammer etc, to bust it out . It's still lots of fun . That 850 would rip and bust so much easier than my 450. The rock will beat my little 450 to a pulp if I let someone drive it . Aloha

Mighty nice to step out of the cab and get the toes off the pedals for a little bit. I have stayed too long and was so miserable later. I don't really know why but thought that you guys were in Ohio but then there can't be a whole lot of difference between wheat and barley grain can there? I drove through in the very early seventies and was not to impressed except for some of the ditch weed growing was as high as fenders on my semi. I get the feeling that if a pond did break, it would spill out twice the distance for a hundred yards and then turn to a teaspoon deep as it flattened out. What a deal you got yourself into this time

That Komatsu with a 6-way does things the Deere can’t touch. It may work harder to do a big push, but the Deere is using a lot more fuel all around. Farmers found this out when they didn’t upsize the implements along with the newer bigger tractor. More fuel per hour is only justified by more acres covered as well.
@thechestnutking7362 жыл бұрын
@@colinwallace5286 We have fleets of new JD, Cat and Komatsu. We constantly are having problems with new Komatsu’s with their regen. You can’t keep them running or half of our cats either. The Deere’s are more reliable so we get better service out of the JD dealers also.

I was going to say I didn’t know John Deere made dozers- of course they make dozers, they make everything. I have a JD zero turn mower, some JD wind chimes, and some JD socks. Growing up in the UK, there were so many Deeres I thought they were British (actually made in Germany). We had a turbo 2180, maybe, the turbo drank so much oil it never got any new oil- it ran forever on the the waste oil from, a combine, a forage harvester, a Belarus, and 5 FIATS.

New dozer operator here. Starting off at a friends family busy. I'm alright I have a lot of improvement that need to be made. But my question is how do you keep your blade from making ruts like I'm pushing dirt down a hill and can't seem to keep the blabe from wanting to dig in when I go Down. Sorry for the long comment I just need a little help
@jimskinner92342 жыл бұрын
You have already partially answered your own question when you say that you already have improvement. Cutting smooth with a dozer requires practice…. Lots of it. I’ve run a dozer for a long time and can give you a few tips. First, slow down. Speed will come with experience. Second, make small corrections, not abrupt changes. Get a feel for what’s happening by the feel and sound of the machine. Third, if possible, don’t try to cut the entire width of the blade if grading smooth. In other words, overlap some and use the previous cut as a guide. Also, if you have an angle blade you can vary the angle which might help keep from repeating the same “ups and downs” as you pass over the same area. Chris and Mike have thousands of hours running a dozer. It comes with practice.
@tomgroenbeck76202 жыл бұрын
I have a truck license from Germany and was driving a dump truck during college break. The nice guy at the freeway construction side handed me over his dozer during his 15 min. breakfast break to play around in the dirt. When he came back and I asked him how he could get the dirt level his simple answer was practice.
