I work for a big retail company that does the same stupid end of quarter make a sales number crap. This idea that the stock market and quarterly earnings is all that matters is ruining businesses and life for all of us. Long term outlooks need to be brought back and screw Wall Street.

I worked for a company which was listed, and then one owned by a very rich family from mainland Europe. The difference is amazing. The conversations went from 3-monthly targets, to “where do we want to be in 5 years”

People keep dismissing the range as "just a bigger battery," but the reason that results in so much more range is because the efficiency is similar to other fullsize EV trucks (especially under load). If the efficiency was that much worse (e.g., the HUMMER EV), then the ranges would still be close. The question people should be asking is, why is GM able to offer so much more battery capacity for the same price or less than what the other EV truck makers are charging?

Martyn this is John who shows up in your batteries included podcasts which I really enjoy I think the big issue with selling Vehicles right now even with a good credit rating the interest rate is between 8% and 9% I bought my Tesla Model y 4 years ago at 3% interest rate I see other manufacturing on gas giving discount financing rates like 1 1/2 % why don't Tesla's Finance their own vehicles at a lower interest rate and they could sell a lot more Vehicles like the other manufacturers do good job I Watch your videos all a Time

Finance is an interesting topic. I see deals from others like the Koreans at 0% or 2% and they seem to use interest rates as more of a tool than Tesla does.

Martyn good advice on buying a new Tesla or any new car! My advice would be if one is going to complain that they paid more than someone later wait and buy it when there is a “deal” on them! Lol😂

On the GMC truck you said it won’t come to Europe. I can tell you there are at least a few Ford F150 Lightning in Denmark. I would love an EV truck but it’s really not practical that it comes with CCS1 and 110v US outlets etc. You would have to rebuild it in my opinion to be practical in Europe.

Many of those pickup trucks won’t fit in many parking spaces and driveways (much less a garage) in the USA either.

In the UK you are correct, I would have problems getting down about 50% of the country and estate roads here. But a decent crew cab pickup sized ala Toyota or Nissan would go down a storm.

Finally change of Tesla sales price strategy. Tesla should not do ad hoc discount on base price which looked like commodity price but instead should do rebate over time. This way will retain the resale value and also please new car buyer. The way it is done is damaging to existing car owner

The Sierra EV Elevation with the 175kWh (20-module) pack would be the one to get IMO. Still probably $79k I’d guess though…

Sounds good. Especially if you don’t need all the range, could be a sweet spot for price. Would that be the difference in pack size between Silverado 3WT and 4WT?

⁠@@EVNewsDailyThat’s my understanding, at least. 215kWh (24 module) vs 175kWh (20 module). Those 215/175 numbers are buried in an EPA document for the 2024 Hummer EVs. My guess is they carry over directly to Silverado&Sierra EVs. 2022&2023 Hummer was listed a tad lower at 212kWh for 24 module. They must have opened up another 3kWh for 2024+ trucks (that’s the way I read it at least). Thanks for the excellent content!!!

I’m looking for an ev tow vehicle for my RV and I think the Silverado and Sierra would be perfect with the large battery. I currently have a 2021 Sierra Elevtion and I can’t afford to drive it here in Canada , especially towing.
