Why don't you use a surface skimmer for canister filters on your 30G reef tank?It would highly improve your filtration..

Great vid but your luck with the Monti could be because your nitrates are bottomed out. I asssume anyways. If you get nitrates back up I would bet the corals grow better and the Acro might color up

How you done any tests? What are your parameters?

Alk at 8.3 Nitrates at 0 Phosphates at 0.05

They Don't need nitrate cause they can get nutrients from other sources but in an aquarium idealy between 1 and 10 would be good
