3 жыл бұрынSalmon fishing in Ireland is something I wanted to do for a long time, and I am absolutely loving it! While salmon fishing can be excellent, it usually comes with more blanks than not and plenty of waiting too. When Salmon hits the fly, however, it's an experience like no other. Here is my fishing on the Blackwater and getting catching my first salmon of 2021 after a run of blanks. But the day wasn't plain sailing...
In the process, I have been learning new Spey casting methods, namely the Snap-T Spey Cast you will see in the video and also the Single Spey in the form of an Underarm Single Spey Cast.

Awesome stuff and well well done on not giving up and keeping the fly in the water lad. That Island Stream holds many's a fine fish throughout the whole season and has to be one of the very best spots on the whole river..... I've fantastic memories from that stretch ..... and I look forward to getting down there again real soon. Congratulations again Marcin!!

I just had a quick look there and it seems you're based in Portugal? I fished around Sagres a few years back but the winds on the west coast were bad, big swells, lots of weed. I never got anything there 😉

Marcin Kantor - Yes, I'm from Portugal and this year the sea bass fishing has been very bad, there are very few, here there is no closed off and the boats can put all the fishing tricks right on the coastline, as we are a poor country, there is no boats at sea monitoring, and then those who fish by boat do what they want, but apparently it's not just in Portugal, it's the human animal that destroys everything in its path. If I were to return the sea bass the size that Marcio returns to the sea, they would call me fool. Ok friend, that's enough for today, however let's talk, but I'm very impressed with your knowledge about fishing, big hug

Piękny odjazd tej lierwszej bestii. Aż mi ciarki przeszły 😁. Wybieram sie na tą rzeke ale nie mogę się zebrać jakoś. Mam nadzieje że sie uda w tym sezonie. Pozdrawienia z północy i może do zobaczenia na rzece👍

Dzięki Tomek, fajnie jak co nieco pociągnie 😉 lepiej jak się je wyciągnie jednak 🤣🤣 rzeka piękna, warto zaglądnąć na parę dni jak wody trochę przybędzie w końcu. Ja jestem tam nierzadko, możemy się spotkać na miejscu 👍

Teraz tylko czekać na troche świerzej wody, u nas tea rzeki wyglądają średnio na dzień dzisiejszy, ale i tak jedziemy w sobote żeby troche połapać. Pozdro

Great piece of filming,it was like being there with you.Sometimes when a Salmon runs a long way downstream like that ,the only way to stop a good fish is to throw it some slack,generally this will stop the fish and the belly of slack downstream of it will encourage it to run back up.Always a chance that the hook will drop out but when they get that far below you they would be lost anyway.

Looks like fishing in Ireland is just like here in Alaska. I love catching salmon on a light pole.

@@MarcinKantor The fishing is always good, if you come over late june and early july are the best for salmon, right now ice fishing is still going on for pike or artic char. Summer is great for halibut, cod or rock fish
