These are the Japan ones early 70's the SK ones are just as good, kind followed the same part of car manufacturing!

@@FishYourWay That make sense he bought that reel while he was in graduate School in the 80s. Very robust reel for sure. I took it apart when I first got it and got rid of the gunk relubed everything. Like you said the construction of the reel is very good.

Hi Jerry, They were some BIG Blues to be so close to shore. I grind off the barbs on all my hooks. It makes unhooking so much easier. Keep up the great videos. Have fun, Mickey

Hi Jerry, we also have these in Australia, we call them Tailor. I find I keep loosing about 50% of them right at my feet in the surf. I was think of replacing the stock treble hooks with either: a single "Big Eye" hook or a single circle hook and maybe an additional assist hook on either or. My logic with the circle hook is, when they are biting they keep coming back straight away so I'd rather up my landing rate even if it reduces my hookup rate. Any suggestions?

That first fish was a beauty! Ill never understand why people can't take their trash with them. I mean, its not difficult. Bring a cheap plastic grocery bag with you. Easy peasy nice and easy. I still smoke, yeah a dying breed, (forgive the pun) and I use a water bottle to put my used butts in. I just don't get it!

I hear ya, great points! I keep the butts in my front pocket if the have pockets, a small zip lock bag for lining. I used to use old fashion pocket ash trays but have no clue where to find them. I still can not figure out why it's easy to lug 1000 ounces of malt liquor in and impossible to take zero out? baffles me???
