A month ago, while hiking out from the West Entrance Trailhead toward Laurel Fork Creek, I looked down a hole about 3 feet in diameter and saw an hour glass shaped arch. Seeing it from below the cliff line I was on top of kept creeping into my thoughts for the next several weeks.
Fast forward to a morning in mid February on a return trip… A “slide” to the bottom was found nearby to get to the bottom and it was amazing almost immediately! Looking back up through the hole revealed there were several smaller arches almost stacked on top of each other. And that was only the beginning! Waterfalls, arches, and all kinds of other features were everywhere! Our footprints were the only ones underneath the protected from the weather rockhouses. It truly was an awesome day! So, of course, there’ll be a return trip!
