Thank you for the quick history listen. My family is from the Big Stone Gap and I learned a little more about them today. My grandparents moved to Indiana back in 1944.

My paternal grandmother (Meemaw, lol) Margaret Emma Rhodes Weber, was born in 1920 in Big Stone Gap. She was mostly raised by her much older sister Oddie Rhodes White, because her mother passed when she was only 8, as her mother had her in her late 40's, I believe. Her brother-in-law was a pharmacist, (W.H. White?) & I think he owned the Mutual Pharmacy. I live in Charlotte, NC, & I plan on visiting one day to see my favorite Meemaw's old stomping grounds! I know her father was a farmer, & that their old farmhouse was either burned or demolished in the 1970's. But surely there must be some buildings left that my family had owned back then. I wish I had written down all of the AMAZING stories that my Meemaw shared with me as I grew up. When she passed in 2002, it was like the end of an era. I sure miss my Meemaw!!💕❤💕
