So glad I happened onto this interview with Ziggy. I have a genuine respect for him and his finally-realized philosophy of life, based on love. His consciousness and awareness of learning from experiences and landing in a place, a mindset, a “vibe” of peace, unity and love is not only refreshing but pure and good.

Too many times in interview Ziggy is asked about Bob, about Bob and about Bob again.... He is his own individual and is nice to hear his side of the real Ziggy Marley.

I have listened to Zizzy Marley several times doing interviewing, about his father, and he has done very well as a little boy when his father died.The reason why the reggae music is not doing so well again, because most of the legendary singers left Jamaica a very long time , and some of them died.Like his father and many more, John Holt, Peter Toosh,Alton Ellis, Prince Buster, Dennis Brown, Delroy Wilson, Larry Marshall ,Justin Hinds, so you does not have the quality singers there anymore.The more younger generation up coming singers, they left Jamaica living in foreign countries, saying that they are running away from violence.I have been to few a countries, and saw a couple of them struggling in life.Because of certain circumstances, they cannot make life in some of those countries.I been around a very long time before Zizzy Marley was born, and know how the system ran in Jamaica.What I really observed that is only a few Jamaican musicians can servives in the USA, because reggae music is not really accepted in the USA more than the ordinary.It is more accepted in Africa,Asia, also most European countries more than our own continent North America.Which we were born and grew up, they are calling us Caribbean people,we are not.Jamaica is only 550 miles from the united States, that is to show you how close we are on the same continent.But for some reason there is too much stigma against Jamaican people, from the united States, and we are all Americans people together.I don't know where this type of behaviour came from against our music,we appreciate their music.But the majority of the people in the united States does not embraced the reggae music, for what reason.Because they does not respected our culture, most of the people who really appreciated the reggae music, those people have some connections from Jamaica, and the rest of the region.I been living in the united States over 25 years, and with all the clubhouses in been to.The only reggae music I ever heard is Shaggy, Bombastic,I didn't know he was from Jamaica at the time.But none of the united States clubhouses I goes to, i never heard a reggae music unless they are owned, and operated by Jamaican.That is to tell you that reggae music is not getting nowhere in the united States at all, with most reggae singers leaving Jamaica to live in the united States,their music is not going anywhere unless they have international tours.From most of the older generation musicians left Jamaica you hardly heard anything of them,it seems like they lost their insperation to sing or wrote reggae music anymore.Is when I looked up some for some of those singers on the internet,which I knew from the 1960s,/70s Or.When I further heard the news on the radio that they have passed away, for years you heard nothing about those musicians and.When they were living in Jamaica so often you would heard,a new song on a regular basis.Something is wrong with our older generation musicians, they left the reggae to the mercy at nobody to guide, and protected it.

No Generation has EVER understood, which is obvious as this generation is simply the product of what came before - but I applaud his efforts and positivity, and those among the younger generation that are listening are the ones that make his work matter. How can you watch this interview and come up with nothing but negativity? (this is coming from a often negative person)

Wise man. When one man becomes wise he leaves behind all this kind of things like religion that only divide us. Rastafarian is only one more religion. And Ziggy do well putting religion apart and spending his lifetime in spiritual growing.

@RaymondGroot
@RaymondGroot 11 жыл бұрын
I'd just like to comment on part 2 of your comment => I agree on peoples right to decide matters for themselves. I have no problem with people consuming marijuana one way or another. The part where I somewhat disagree however lies in the point where 'the people' fall under collective health care plans, expect the same treatment as their neighbors - yet take no responsibility for their own health - that is unfair and selfish. This is more relevant for hard drugs that work more on your system ofc.

Unfortunately I agree with the general opinion that it's harmful and should be kept with illegal status. I do not support drugs but I do support Ziggy. I agree with the Marleys on everything except marijuana but I do understand that smoking it is part of their religion and culture. I did hear what Ziggy said about love being his religion and so on but still. I love his music and most of his philosophy.
