the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. kzfaq.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

What a fantastic looking wardrobe, I really don't understand the negative comments, you have made something as mundane as a wardrobe look brilliant and in keeping with the room!! It's bespoke and hand finished with chisels, hand planners, skirting and scotia !! You even went back and finished with beading to loose the gap from uneven walls and floor!! Superb tradesman!!

Amazing as always, I like the way you admit to your mistakes and leave them in your videos, some content makers would leave that sort of thing out to make themselves look better. Nice to see even the professionals can make mistakes and even better when they are willing to admit it.

thanks again Joey that's more like some of the things I make though mine have less pine and more MDF and I haven't made one quite as giant as that one! You must need a ladder to get into the top storage cupboards. Thanks for taking the time to film the install. Paint finish looks great and its in a massive house by the looks of it too.
@omoog
@omoog 7 жыл бұрын
I would have liked to see the base board moulding along the wall removed and cut so you didn't have to use the trim along the sides. But I get time and money are a factor too. Nice unit. I build a similar unit as a build-in pass though deciding rooms with storage above and along the sides.
@KingPostTimberWorks
@KingPostTimberWorks 7 жыл бұрын
omoog hi, removing the house skirting was the plan, but due to the way the house had be been built and subsequently renovated this was going to cause more issues than it solved. for example it was normal when this was built for the floor boards not to go under the wall and there is no bottom plate, the skirting was then fixed to the studs and the wall linings on top of that. if I removed the skirting it would open up a hole to under the house creating huge draft issues.

Have you ever considered using IKEA MAXIMERA drawers? They are manufactured by Blum and very much look like the ones your are using. I dont know what you are paying for yours but I would think it is worth looking in to as IKEA stuff is very reasonably priced. Here in Sweden it is about half price I think.

I build custom cabinets myself, usually built-in/on-site, and use similar hinges and drawer slides but I'd love to experiment with the other items you use (drawer assemblies, adjustable feet, etc.). Where do you get them? Also, I purchased a small Senco air compressor paired with a short coiled air hose for small jobs (like installing the quarter-round) that's very quiet and convenient- well worth the money. Very nice work, I saw several things that I can use in the future- thanks!

stvbrwn8 hi the drawers a by Blum. their regular soft close with an inner drawer front kit. the feet are made for Kitchens I get them from a trade supply ' Enko' here in NZ. compressor would be great if you do this kind of thing often. I tend not to do many installs like this.

@Denise S, it's because Australian tradesmen come in 2 varieties: your typical educationally disrespectful ones (those who are anti-education, or speaking well because they think it makes them a 'poof' (offensive word for gays)... and thoughtful, articulate ones like KingPost. In the US, I find they are rarely as brash and sometimes mean in spirit as the Aussie ones, but there are very few like KingPost. He's not that uncommon in Australia.
