Big Wave Surfing in Honokeana Cove

Жыл бұрынOn January 12, 2023 big swells continued on the north shore of Maui with waves of 35 to 50 feet. Waves continued to wrap around the west side of Maui, creating big waves in Napili Bay and Honokeana Cove. This video shows expert surfers catching the large waves out on Little Makaha and the dangerous break along the shore, called hole in the head. Note the that lifeguards were patrolling with a Ski Doo but didn’t have any customers in Honokeana Cove.

Aloha, it was spectacular during the late January giant surf. Were you able to get out there? Were you surfing, Boogie boarding or Stand up paddleboarding? Although I am 80 I still Boogie board and SUP in Napili Bay when I'm there, but I couldn't go into Napili Bay during that time. I took a lot of video and had to go to Launiupoko to get into the ocean. Mahalo for commenting.
