Hey Rob this world is a fake simulation. You know that waves like that just don't happen. But when people get close to the beach or they are on a pier then huge waves kinda appear out of no where just so the people can get soaked. It's sort of like a prank. Rarely does anyone ever get hurt. I have seen lots of these video's. They aren't fake videos. They are just highly unlikely. It's all over the world. Big rogue wave out of no where to soak someone.

Once in Lima Peru during an el nińo winter, I nearly got ragdolled into a pier. Never realized how quickly the ocean can throw you until a structure jumps out in front of you🤙🏻🤣🤔

I watched 1 video of a tsunami in the Philippines and now KZfaq recommends me all these tsunami/ocean-related videos. I guess the algorithm does its job from time to time.

I remember when I lived in OB there were times when waves would hit the end of the pier where it splits and smack flush against both sides and be as high as the bottom of the walkway. The whole pier shook when they would hit. Surprised it hasn't crumbled into the ocean by now. That was many years ago. Used to boogie board and surf just to the right (north) of the pier, by the lifeguard station. Ahhh, the old Alberto's (changed to Nico's) on Newport & Cable and the best, Roberto's on Voltaire and Sunset Cliffs!

@@JohnnySurf Taught my yellow lab to swim there. Went to work out at Robb Field and there was a girl with a dog and pups 5 weeks old. Took my bud home that morning. Teach a lab to swim, yep, need to. Walk in backwards into the water at dog beach, calling him, and after cresting that first 6" wave and dog paddling they can't get enough of the H 2 O! GOD I miss SD!!! F'in covid or else I would be there vacationing for last 6 months!

Ocean Beach is usually a pretty tame place. Every time I’ve been there anyway. Did experience my first rip current there, standing in water a bit above my hips just about took me anyway. Life gaurd came out anyway and said there was a “hole” forming out there, and I’m like from Minnesota I have no idea but that rip scared me

I remember being at the pier in San Clemente in the mid 60s and some huge waves cleaned off the outside third of the pier. I was going to surf that weekend and it was closed to surfing or anything else. I also remember some fools who wanted to surf Zuma Beach near Malibu, but the ocean was closed, probably saved my teenaged no sense ass.
