I decided it was time for a change of scenery, so I headed to the big hills for a couple days. Wish I'd had more time to hunt this beautiful country! Here's how I found deer with no previous scouting trips.

Agreed! Two died under my stand this week when deer hunts immediately turned into coyote hunts.

Any particular reason you can't share the forest with another of God's creatures? It's not like hunters are doing a great job controlling diseases like chronic wasting disease or lime, or keeping the forest healthy by controlling overbrowsing. More coyote means less lime disease spread by rodents, and that alone is a good enough reason to have them around.

Love the ole 30-30 man. I use a 35 marlin lever action. Bought newer guns but always go back to that. No telling how much blood that thing has spilt

You should try the Fanatic Outdoors hammock chair, it’s perfect for still hunting and just sitting on a tree instead of the ground. I love it and it rolls up about the size of a coke can and sets up in a min.

First thing-Rain suits are cheap-Second thing- Why don't you put some sling swivels on that nice 30-30- Third thing- Why sit on the ground. Why don't you buy a small cheap folding chair that you could put in a backpack with a set of shooting sticks. All these thing would make a much better hunt. Also bring something better for lunch than Vienna sausages.

Rain suits don’t protect my camera. I have sling swivels, but my sling broke and I haven’t replaced it yet. I sit on the ground because why carry a chair? That’s one extra thing, I already carry a camera and tripod.
