Nice to see, it seems to me that maybe the result got better because of the mishap in the beginning. It's more work but you have one solid piece to port that is glued too the cylinder instead of 2-3 of 'em glued together.

Russ White I think in the end it was probably for the best, less JB weld on the cylinder and more solid aluminium. But right then I wasn't a happy camper!

oldsled1 Thanks for being interested in my rambling :) I bought the sleeve directly from LA Sleeve, part number FL-76. I think these generic sleeves are really meant for 4 strokes, the flange was both too thin and too narrow so I had to turn a little adapter piece to put around the flange.
