I've been looking at "Super C" RV's for 2 years now. They are NOT cheap. But, if they are taken care of you cant kill em. I want one so I could tow a boat or my truck with no worries.

Sweet Showhauler. I'd say more on the lines of $500k, and when it comes to their towing capacity, If they have double rear axles then most of the time they have a 40k hitch, and the single axle models only have a 20k.

Usually 600hp, full welded steel cage (they have proof of a showhauler that had flipped over after a crash and all it had was a bent slide with everything else still perfect so the put it back on it's wheel and drove it home), aluminium exterior side wall vs renegades GRP side wall, You can go as custom as you want with a show hauler unlike renegade where you're limited even on the classic, if you want to save money you can take your own chassis to showhauler for them to build on so you're not spending $150k on a brand new truck chassis. Max price is about $500k with every thing custom and a brand new chassis.

@@kevinbarry71 Volvo used to be the main chassis for most super Cs but since volvo stopped making the 600hp engine last year all the super C manufacturers have moved to the Cascadia chassis but like I said they will build on pretty much any chassis.

TheDestroyer32 the d13 May not go to 600 hp, however, it's still has 1850 pound feet of torque. I think that's sufficient. In my opinion, I would take a little less power for the superior design of the Volvo.

I’ve seen these types of rigs and coaches pulling enclosed trailers to performing art centers and arenas in my area. These conversions have been around since the late 90’s if you want a rolling mansion then here it is.

If you're able to afford this please take a Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Course. Its wide tall and heavy folks. Get use to the characteristics of the vehicle before driving long distance. 21 yrs. OTR driving. Due diligence goes a long way folks. Be careful driving.

We have an older show hauler former racing rig. Safest RV you can get! 500hp kenworth nose leading you down the road and show haulers are all steel frame units. That piece of mind is priceless!! Doing a remodel now and only one small slide in the 44ft, but never a worry is worth giving up a few fancies anytime.

I used to service a rig like this for a rodeo cowboy when I ran a mobile service outfit. Sure was a clean rig. Always a pleasure to work on, and that thing was babied its entire life. In my opinion, you cant go wrong with this setup. Great video btbrv as usual!

I hope that rig has an air ride system that will lift tail up a bit. It looks like it will drag everytime you turn into a fuel station. Otherwise, we can always dream!

I can promise you it doesnt have 40k towing. I'm a trucker, I understand max towing weights, especially since I drive that generation cascadia, as a day cab. As a day cab they have a little over 40k worth of weight they can pull, but with everything they have in that RV, that cascadia's towing capacity, especially with the extended frame and everything else included, has probably closer to 25, maybe 30k if you're lucky. Sure, the truck could haul more, but based on national DOT laws, you'll never be able to. They'd never let you on a road.

@@nathanputz40 They beef up everything underneath. On their 4X4 models they completely replace the undercarriage to handle more weight and more towing capacity. One can't compare it to a standard semi. BTW, one doesn't need a full CDL to drive one since it is an RV.

@@nathanputz40 The Freightliner eCascadia has a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 80,000 pounds. So if they keep the Showhualer at 40k. pounds, then it would have a 40k pound towing capability. But the towing capability goes down with the size and weight of the RV. So say this RV has a 45k GCWR then the owner shouldn't tow more than 35k. But that hitch is still a 40k hitch. It's the owner's place not to break the law by being overloaded.

You should have opened any of the storage bays. What you will discover is you do not get pass through storage. The typical engine in one of these is 500 HP - 600 HP. The transmission is either an Allison automatic transmission or a 12 speed Automated Transmission.

Yes, you have the frame rails running down the sides. And in between those you have a driveshaft. To me, at least, this is better than one of those full frame class A's with tandem axles. It's certainly stronger.

Kevin Barry the second axle on a Class A is nothing but a tag axle,...just there to support weight. The Super C axles can be locked, and actually be of some use, besides just supporting weight.

B&M Land Management Co very true, except the tag axle on the class A can also steer. Helps with maneuverability. This tractor base solution is definitely a little bit less space efficient, however I would take it because of its other advantages.

Thanks for this video. I asked if you were going to do a video and you did. These are awesome the frame of the motorhome are all welded steel. They are made before the it's fitted to the truck frame. Can pull 40,000 lbs behind it. Thats more than 1 ton pick up can tow by it's self. Great video and thanks.

All drawers on Showhaulers have dovetail drawers. At least in the last 10 years or so.

The expected use of a coach is clearly a consideration. This coach is awesome, but looks to me to be a pavement runner, heavy tow user rig. Long overhang behind rear axle and low rear ground clearance would never work for me but, I could never afford it anyway. Oh well ;-) Enjoy your videos...

True. In Cali that might be the case. But when you figure in the yearly maintenance and gas consumption and property tax. Also when buying this rig you'll pay over $30K in registration and tax fees. Good ol' Cali.

I believe it makes more sense to build an RV on a truck chassis than to build one from an RV chassis bc truck chassis are million mile chassis and can be easily serviced and repaired all over our country. They also cost a hell of a lot less money which mean I have more more to leave my grandchildren!

I wish he had the length and the gross weight at least. This is after all a semi tractor probably from the factory with a very long extended frame. After that the coach builder builds on behind the cab. For durability and longevity it will be difficult to beat this.

Nice but real camping to me is going off road where that thing can't go use that for urban camping. If you have a four wheel drive truck you get one of those off road Caravans are they making Australia it'll cost a lot cheaper and disappear into the wilderness just make sure you have solar panels holds 4 to 6 batteries like the earth roamer

If folks cared about 'whisper quiet' A/C units, they'd get em' for their home/apartment first before even considering them in their RV! :-) Seriously...if a in window AC unit doesn't bother you, I'm sure these types of units aren't going to give you Tinnitus! :-)

First, you said this bus, it not a bus it’s a Super C. The way it looks it’s a 45’ footer with a price tag of around $550K to $670’ish K.

You didn't tell us very much about this vehicle .What is GV W R? What does it weigh? What size are fuel, fresh water, black and grey water tanks? What horse power? How widespread are dealers for this truck? That's just a few questions, I could ask many more.

With how low the bodywork is on this thing I would imagine that the rear bodywork behind the rear axles would hit the ground anytime you drove anywhere with an incline that was even remotely steep. The length between the front and rear axles would make it very easy to get high centered too. You would definitely be limited to where you could drive this because of how low it is and how much overhang you have in the rear.

Owners of a rig like this would probably say that it’s a truck conversion and not a Super C. Class 8 trucks are often seen as a step above a Super C. But of course, there’s no official definition. So, different people call it different things.

dsparke93 I had one built on a ‘08 Peterbilt 387 chassis back in 2008. C-15 Cat with the 18 speed Autoshift tranny. It was 41’ long, and I had 31’ double-stacker trailer to haul the toys with. I loved driving it no matter where we went. It was it was always ready to work, lol. It didn’t matter if you were cruising out on the long flat Interstate highways, or if you were running up and down through the mountains. It was an awesome machine.

Shy of a Prevost Coach...Super C's are my favorite...I'll take this or a similar one from either Renegade or Dynamax over ANY OTHER TYPE OF CLASS A...that includes Entegra and Newmar.

Newmar seems to build more luxury with better floorplans so I'd be curious why they are out of the running for you. I've never liked a coach that didn't put a TV directly across from reclining seating. And you will find few options in Super C's that have such a layout. Renegade does have some though but most of Dynamax floorplans put the TV high and to one side. My neck would never be pain free again... No good!

BTBRV, IWS builds Renegade super C RVs like this in Mountain Home Idaho. I think you and me are both sold on the Sportsman model (if I know you like I think I do, lol) The Sportsman is what I'm saving up for. Yes they're higher end but worth it. 😄😉😄

Showhauler frames are made from 2X3 steel tubing, all welded, no screws. You won't find that in a Renegade. :)

Just curious.. while driving down the road with the slides in, it appears you need to climb over the bed to use the toilet. I think I'd put the restroom ahead of the Master bedroom.

Is there a big difference between a Freightliner Cascadia and a Peterbilt 567 chassis? Such as noise, heat, room, power?

I was expecting a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom!! Oh well,,I have not seen one yet..I am going to buy a cheap motorhome and turn the whole rear end to a Jacuzzi room with one way glass all around so me and my girl can sit in it and have a few drinks while my driver is cruising down the highway..just sayin..
