@@wisemansays Its not that they are being smuggled here. They simply are infiltrating into Bengal and from there they are travelling to Andamans . 80 to 90 % bengalis here are of Bangladesh.

Malacca strait is the busiest trade route on the the planet. Countries such as singapore and malaysia has capitalized on this and built ports which has transformed their economies. But our government, inspite of having the andaman and nicobar islands in possession,didnot even bother to built a port in the past 70 years. Forget about port,even basic infrastructure of the islands are pathetic. Thankfully ,the present govt is going to buikd a transhipment port,which will definitely transform the economy of the islands.

Andaman and Nicobar in itself can be like Singapore but it needs a lot of infra, most important an independent company (like metro companies in India )that will build a railway line connecting the entire region. this will jump-start the economy, especially for tourism, once this kick off the housing and specialised industry can make these Islands a paradise. Goa will have serious competition.

That would be brilliant. It can be called as the Island Railway corporation ltd. In fact, I think that even IR's different facets should be headed by different Government corporations with PPP models. For example, Passenger Rail corporation, DFCCIL exclusively for heading the freight operations, Loh path corporation for track, power and signalling maintenance, different corporations for City Suburban Rail (Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, etc.) and Stations and yards to be maintained by the government in partnership with private companies. Of course, the system can be kept open access so that Private players can operate their own trains alongside Passenger Rail corp trains. I got some of these ideas from 24 coaches. All of this should also be integrated with other modes of transport seamlessly.

I am a residence of Andaman and Nicobar Islands first of all I am thankful to you for making such on our beautiful Island.When ever I went to mainland the people always asking where is this islands situated or asking it is part of India or not that make me always guilty. Thanks to our PM Modi ji also who highlighted the importance of our Islands and launched many megaprojects for the development of the Island which never done before so fast and within the time period.He also took steps for better communication and net connectivity which made as lagging in this fast growing technical world.He made it possible the optical cable connectivity with mainland project in a year.The NH work is the main life line of our Island its almost completed.New Airport and better network increase tourism and bussiness opertunity ,more flights and I think the int.national flights with cargo flights to singaporw malasiya open door for sea food exports and other bussiness.He aslo given a gift of new cargo ship terminal which decrease the price of products which coming from mainland than from near by countries. He also announced to make another airforce runway at North Andaman .Development of this Islands make India stronger in defence and bussiness.

@@gyan5589 no no rrts is too costly just imagine 83 km long delhi meerut rrts costs 31000 crore. A conventional railway is more viable option. Actually Japan has proposed technical support for a railway along the coast line. It will be very helpful for people of Mayabandar as they have no choice other than 1 day long road trip.

@@eshan95 we have Lakshadweep also which is alike Maldives. But yes it might not as luxurious as Maldives. But yes one may get the same in AnD and LD. But I think people prefer MD because it is outside India.

@@adityapratapsingh7649 Get what same ? Just compare the prices of accommodation in lakshwadeep and Maldives. For nearly the same amount just see the kind of properties one can avail. Andaman maybe slightly better but it also needs to develop significantly. Lastly, the question arises who pays for the development? Maldives is geographically an archipelago with many many tiny islands. These islands are sold as private islands to resort chains who develop the island at their own expense. In Lakshwadeep there’s significant governmental control and India does not sell its land for private use. Government sees no incentive to spend millions on a region that is land locked and can generate small amounts via tourism. It will cost a lot and will take super long to recover the money and break even. This is not even considering the inefficient public administration of resort properties. From the the govts pov that money is far better used on education and healthcare in lakshwadeep that benefits Indians at a grass root level than provide an expensive vacation opportunities for the ultra wealthy.

Wow... This is greatness and truth modi- BJP rule of nation. Our nation are developing fast under Narendra modi ji leadership quality and truth. Once upon a time our nation had from iran/iraq till indonesia and from tibet till sri Lanka. Unfortunately due to foreign invaders like British and mughal had divided our nation into multiple countries and ruled so badly. problem is not govt but the public fukat mein rahena ka maza atta some people who got the flat have rented them and still living in slums. What they need is a good housing project with Police ka danda.

Bhai, all this is because of bad planning .most of the officers come from Delhi and they go back after their tenure .They never have any development plans, they can easily bring drinking water from Kalaphard and so solve water problem of Port Blair , well so many problems can be solved but they lack intrest .

Proposals , friend I request you to visit a web sight known as konkan railways , you will surely have a idea that Andamans can surely have a railway system from the south Andaman.to Nirth Andaman . I am sure you people can then have a good proposal and forward it to the central Govt.You people must keep demanding till you get it .

I'm from island, but sorry to say you that each project has their deep roots in corruption, no one is here for vigilance so, what and how much you want to loot you can. Condition of the national highway is pathetic and under water ofc cable (WTF), it hard to make a phone call and still making a video call is like a day dreaming. Please support us to sustain our day today life at this little and isolated Islands.

Slow down the progress. Some places need to remain authentic and not overly built up. There's 1000's of places that all look the same. Let's keep the Andaman & Nicobar islands as nature filled and natural as they've been for decades

They should make a financial centre; manufacturing free zone together with the port to make Andaman an export hub and a transshipment port to compete with Singapore and Port Klang.
