This is the historic build of the entire interior of the original Starship USS Enterprise. Thank you to crewmembers and Patron supporters Penn, McBryde and Powell for allowing us to view their quarters on the 1/100 scale model. In this video we also see how the dorsal section relates and works with the saucer section.
Sign up and become a crewmember with your own private quarters on board the model of the ship here / mrtrek
Check out our very own crewmember Yeoman Larsens beautiful music here

I think the idea about the lighting section would be cool. Have you considered that for the patron crew quarters that there could be some way for the crew to "log on" to show that they are "aboard" and on/off duty. This would lend an organic element to your model, almost as tough there was a living crew inhabiting the model. This would add an additional element of complexity but it would also be in keeping with the spirit of this monumental undertaking as it would also incorporate the challenge of electrical design/integration along with the structural. Maybe also consider some of the small LED screens that I've seen in some models that could act as display screens as an optional decoration for patron's contributing at the higher levels.

Soit l'Etat profond! Stéph. Thanks for sharing! Superb miniature technical video! Watching your video, and discovering the large amount of empty but structured space, it made me think of dirigible balloons! So if we put a lighter-than-air gas here, the structure will be rested upwards, and so the craft will be able to take off and reach space! This gas can also be used to cope with the pressure of space that the structure of the craft! Incompressible gas, equal resistance! And if it can also work with the same structure in a submarine version, then we know where Captain Nemo is! Named! or Neom! In other words, the Deep State! Stéph.

So I recently heard in Star Trek trivia that the registration numbers 1701 were used because Jeffries thought thought that the numbers 3, 6, 8, or 9 wouldn't show up well on the film of the time and their characters would be to 'indistinct' on the outer hull of the saucer.

Nice! I just realized though that the partition supports will get progressively narrower the closer you get to the centre -- will that mean quarters will get progressively smaller as they head towards the centre or will they just include a larger number of supports per cabin?
@Beuwen_The_Dragon
@Beuwen_The_Dragon 2 ай бұрын
Aye, rooms with start getting a bit narrower, but there would simply be fewer rooms the further inward the saucer you go. Typically Officer quarters (ensigns and up) were larger and a bit more furnished than ratings/crewmen quarters. Crewmen quarters would typically be bunked for two to four crewmen, and were not as personalized or fancily furnished with an ‘office” as there would be for officers. Crewmen would have their own shared recreation areas and galleys separate from their living space.

All I can really say is..... UNBELIEVABLE but I"M SEEING IT! You know who would loved to have seen this? Gene Roddenberry. I was young but I did get to meet him at convention. Sure, he had his quirks and vices, but he was human. I just know that the passion he for his fans was real. You can't fake that emotion(s). Just like we can all hear in your voice. I have nothing negative to say. Nor can I give any constructive ( which is usually jealous and destructive just hidden) criticism. How could I? I've built models, from a kit, designed by highly intelligent individuals. This IS THE KIT! Being made as if it was full scale. Tools and construction materials on site. I could keep complimenting but I feel others will think I'm a shill or attention seeking. One last thing.... I simply love how each of your videos "catch you up" to speed and tell you what's been going on AND where the project is going. All this in mere minutes so it's not boring, but inspiring, to hear and if episodes were missed, I'd want to go back and catch up! I just can't believe I'm hearing that there's going to be a larger, 1:25th scale! Will it be a full ship on chunks/sections? I think I already know the answer......lol! Thank you and I'll try to share this with anyone that does not already know about you and your "treks" with these projects!

Just sending you a quick message of encouragement. Your videos are totally engrossing for me. Thanks for your detailed look at the interior spaces of the original Enterprise. Your modeling is the most detailed concept of the interior of the decks that I've ever seen. Between the smaller and the 1:100 model, is the hallway in a different position relative to the deck's diameter?
@mrtrek2117
@mrtrek2117 2 ай бұрын
Thank you! The interior you see on the smaller model is just for effect, the main purpose of that model was to show how the big 1/25 scale model will be viewable by visitors. So if you study the rough interior of the small model you will find that almost all of it does not match the 1/100 scale model shown in this recent video.

Will you be installing bathrooms/toilets, showers, changing rooms, crewman level dorm bunk rooms for the lower class rates? How about the emergency landing legs on the saucer underside? Waste (both human & trash), recycling synthisizers, and reclamation facilities, galley's, Armories, Phaser qualification ranges, and crew-gyms, science/ medical laboratories, dining areas, breakrooms, recreation areas. Not every crew member has a stateroom, some live in bunk rooms. Medical facilities and hospital beds for triage, spare parts storage, ordinance lockers, custodial closets, pipe chases... You're doing fantastic work. I just wanted to gauge the detail level you want to convey. Whether you design-in things an actual crew would need for ship operation, or only what's seen, or mentioned in movies, and tv shows. This is a make believe ship, but for it to operate (fictionally) and sustain a crew of 300, in a sealed closed environment like space, and possibly a rescue/evacuation level of 700, a lot of space needs to be allocated for its mission profiles. Just like, not everyone's an "officer grade", not every system is pretty or popular. Just seeing tankage, storage, and facility space for operational systems would do, I guess. Real aircraft carriers and warships are designed in modular sections, but they all must fit together like a puzzle. They have the advantage of operations in an atmosphere. In space, its a closed system; you must take everything you need with you. Great work on what you've done so far.

Love what you're doing but think there is a minor flaw in your design. Question: How do the crew members get to deck 7 as you aren't showing a walkway from the center to the crew area? Could the curvature, under deck 7 on the outer ring, actually be flat, with the 'lip'(below deck 7 - outer ring) house the plumbing and electrical components running under the crew quarters? All walkways were flat - no 'hills' to climb.
@mrtrek2117
@mrtrek2117 2 ай бұрын
Well, we can't say that all walkways were flat as 95% of the ship was not actually shown in the TV show. The points you question are all covered in previous videos.
