I didn’t tell you this when we chatted but you and your fam got me through one of the worst times of my life. I lost my dad to covid at the end of 2020 unexpectedly right before the vaccines were out and you played a pivotal roll in helping me get through one of the most traumatic times of my life by simply just being you. You along with a handful of other creators helped give me an escape when I needed it. At that time I couldn’t talk about it with my friends because it was too hard, so I turned to people like you on KZfaq who I felt I had a connection with. It might sound crazy but as creators say “hi friends” “hi besties” “BGA crew!” etc. - it really is a community that you feel like you belong to and that’s what I turned to. I am still to this day processing it all, but I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤🇲🇽 🇵🇭

A suggestion on the Tocino, to contrast the sweetness, dip it in Spicy Vinegar. Other SILOG dishes you need to try are the TAPA ( marinated beef strips ) JEPROX ( fried crispy dried fish called jeprox ) CORNED BEEF ( corned beef sauteed with onions/garlic )

If you love lumpia so much like I do, you can do a batch at home and throw them in the freezer. Then just fry anytime you crave for them. Lumpia is a staple in our household. We love it for breakfast or paired with stir fried veggies. To make lumpia you just combine ground pork with chopped onions, carrots, celery or parsley, egg, salt and pepper. Then wrap using spring roll wrappers.

Tocinos are marinated i think in soy sauce and sugar..and the combination your having is the Tosilog (To - tocino, Si - For sinangag which is like fried rice and Log - is for Itlog which is the fried egg on it.) I really love your enthusiasm whenever you are trying Filipino foods.

Just a backgrounder, Silog is short for "Sinangag" or garlic fried rice and "itlog" or egg. Anything that you add to that, just add SILOG so if it's Sisig it's Sisilog, Sardines + SILOG is Sarsilog, etc. :) So happy that you are actually very adventurous when it comes to the different food cultures. Been following your vlogs for more than a year now.

Foods like tocino have a very powerful taste.. that is why you partner it with egg and rice. ToSiLog means TOcino,SInangag (fried rice), itLOG (egg). Fried rice and egg have salts in it, makes a balance to the tocino.

The Tocino is marinated in pineapple juice (in the West I have seen some use apple juice if they can't find pineapple juice). The red coloring comes from achuete (annato). If you want it a bit sweeter , then you can add some brown sugar in the marinate. To attain that tenderness in the meat and that flavor, it's usually marinated up to 3 days. To offset the sweetness, we dip it in a vinegar, freshly minced garlic and onion and fresh chili sauce. 😊🇨🇦🇵🇭

If you cook Tocino, the sweet glazed left in the pan... put some rice on it and mix. It becomes a fried rice that goes well with the tocino. You can dip the tocino in vinegar or have "achara" on the side. The hotdog goes very well with banana catsup and hot pandesal for breakfast with sunny side up eggs. Dip the warm pandesal in the yolk and then catsup. that's what i do all the time. i enjoy watching your videos and thank you for loving filipino cuisines! i even asked my baker friend to make ube cheesecake because i watch your video all the time and you love it so much. hope she can recreate that! keep up the good work and God bless!

You're fun to watch eating and seems like im going to Filipino restaurant right now. I doubt if we have one in our city. I just finished my dinner but i feel like eating again watching you. I love Mexican food especially steak burrito. Some of Filipino food is similar to Mexican. The best burrito is in San Francisco.

Tocino goes well with vinegar(with garlic ground peps pinch of salt sweetened with cucumber and brown sugar depends on how u will like it sour or sweet) tag it with lumpia u will never go wrong if u ever have left over of that vinegar mix u can dip anything fried fil foods. More power to you keep on doin what u love and what u like.... A little hint most fried fil goods are good with seasoned vinegar dip
