I'm still proud of my Filipino heritage and it makes me happy when others enjoy the culture and food. Hi big guy!... the philippines was colonized by the spanish for like 500 years, that is why our language have a lot of spanish words in it. Also the cuisine is very close or similar to mexican and other south american countries, but with different spices. Also we have chinese influence because of all the chinese traders that traded with us in the 1800's (i think) and the great migration of the chinese also, that is why we have the oldest chinatown (i think hehe)... and that is why we also have the noodles like pancit and other dishes. I really love that you appreciate our food... and i am with the others in saying that you are very welcome to come here and experience our culture... though not a perfect country... we will make it a great stay... mabuhay ka! long live big guy!!!

hey big guy, thank you for trying Filipino dishes. Dinuguan is partnered with puto (not male prost but rice cake). Sisig is eaten in a sizzling plate to feel the crunchiness. Sinigang is on point. You can have sinigang for hangovers or when your sick. Another alternative for sinigang is nilaga - beef meat stew with sweet banana. Inasal is eaten like what you did - cave man style. Filipino food is feast food
