I can't believe I've made 70 of these tutorial videos!!! Wow. A few years ago I did a Part 8 mask, but it was with a cheap blank and not as much texture as I should've given it. So, since this is my second favorite version of the mask in the movie franchise, I wanted to make it again with a legit blank and more detail. The mask and straps came from www.jdfstudios.com

I made a Part 8 video a few years ago, but since it's my second favorite version of Jason's mask I wanted to revisit it with a better blank and more detail. Not trying to match it to the movie in exact detail, just in style. THANK YOU all for supporting my videos and channel! I NEVER thought I'd make 70 of these things. Crazy!

Since you've done this a few times now? I'd really love to see a video like this on either the Part 9 mask or Part 7 mask or hell, to make things more interesting, maybe do your own take on the version of the Part 6 mask that has the chunk taken out of it by the boat propeller.

You knocked it out of the park with this part 8. Incredible work as always! I’ve always made my 8’s more on the clean side but I love the dirtier look. (Also on a side note I feel like my work always comes out better on the higher quality blanks)

Just an FYI to anyone who cares to know. The film accurate way to paint a P8 hock is a base coat of silver on a clear blank underneath your yellow top coat. Back side painted black. And your yellow color is obtained with a mixture of golden sunset, linen, and snow white acrylic paints and applied with a spouncer. Hope this helps for all you screen accurate buffs. Nice job Big H! 🤘

I couldnt find a part 8 blank anymore on JDF, so I ordered the classic B blank, it was the closest I could find. I'm also ordering the dee rings ,leather and halter square to make my own straps, just wanted to branch out more into making my own straps after making custom leather straps for another custom mask a customer ordered

I'm new to the channel but you have a subscriber in me now after I seen your incredible work on the Jason masks. Love it. When I was a little boy with a hard plastic hockey mask from Big Lots I did my own custom work in burning scratching and dirtying it up but nothing compared to what you do. Awesome work man.

I had the same issues with my Rivet Gun, it even cracked one mask. My girl suggested Chicago Screws instead of rivets. They are well worth the price and if you need to remove the strap for any reason they come right out.

Looks great man! I love the part 8 mask. Sometimes with those pop rivet guns you gotta squeeze them a couple times for it to break off the post (at least from my experience) so that could be why lol

Looks pretty damn good. When I bough my part 8, JDF wasn't supplying at the time so i had to go to the website he linked on his site, spent 30 bucks but it turned out to be one of my better masks

For the rivets, you have squeeze the handle and pull the handles apart and keep repeating until it pops itself.

So what does the other side of the rivets look like, on the back of the mask? About 20 years ago I had a job where I used both manual and pneumatic pop rivet guns, and the rivets usually came out really jagged, and at best barrel-shaped on the backs of things. I suppose that's why they're called blind rivets - it was apparently originally intended that they be used for applications in which no one would ever see what the other side looked like.

After the rivet pulls through, push the gun all the way to base and pull the trigger again. That cuts the shank off

The Pop rivets are stuck use A Hammer to Hammer em down like installing snaps, but wait for it to go down and then it Can be removed

Basically the reason the rivet stem didn’t get pulled out is because you usually need to squeeze it twice with cheaper riveters

With the revet gun, just slide it back down on to the revet and pop it again until it breaks off
