I like to talk with the farmer. They can give more info than I can on the operation of the machine.

The new tracks are a nice upgrade. I have to see the generation 1 tracks have a cool look but I have been told they offered a rough ride. I hope to film a 2012 T9.615 to see how the ride compares.

The SmartTrax versions have been a rare sighting in my book. I have wanted to film one since 2012. 2024 was the year to catch one. I hope to gild some more.

I always think talking to the farmer really helps add to the video to hear their personal experience and why they chose to purchase the machine.

John Deere S7 combines aren’t supposed to be released to the public, till 2025, and plus wheat harvest is pretty much finished

This tractor is similar to the Case IH 555 Steiger. Both are built at the CNH factory in Fargo, ND.

Yes it is. Until now New Holland has used an outside suppliers tracks. The T9.615 is similar to a 555 Steiger.

Steiger never built any of their tractors under licence for John Deere - ever. John Deere 4 wd artic tractors of the modern era, started with their 8010, introduced first in 1959, then again in 1960, as the big brother to the New Generation tractors. They were very expensive and had reliability issues, and so were taken back in house to be tweaked, ans reintroduced as the 8020 model. Only about 100 were ever made, and it took forever to get the last of them sold. After this, they entered a badge engineering agreement with the Wagner Tractor Company, who produced both the WA 14 & 17 models for Deere & Co. The agreement between the two parties included a non compete clause which effectively put Wagner out of business. After that, John Deere produced their own 4wd articulated tractors, utilising components from the larger tractors already in production, such as the Transaxle assembly, thereby greatly reducing cost of these units, compared to the former badge engineered models. The 7020 & 7520 tractors were produced from the early 1970s until 1975, when the likes of the 8630 tractor superceded them. The big selling point of the newer models was the rounded off design, Soundgard cab, whilst other componentry again drew from the larger conventional tractors already in production. Subsequent ranges have introduced more poeer via larger engines, but the overall styling stayed largely the same across several generations of the latter iterations.

Early New Holland Smart Trax tractors were a standard wheeled tractor fitted with ATI track modules with the subsequent reduction in transport speed. The new ones are a Case Quadtrac with the usual New Holland cosmetic differences. There was a T9.670 converted to ATI tracks by the local distributor here in Western Australia back when they were first released. From memory it was the year after that they became available as a factory fitted option.

NH vs CIH look to be indentical. We have a 580 quad at work that looks almost identical to this one.

Lots of factors in the size. How wide are the roads and low are the power lines you you have to transport through. The wider the wings get the less even the finish is from the center to the outside. What tractor did the bigger horse power replace. The farm may have not upgraded implements at the same time.

Back when NH had Ford the articulated tractors were built by versatile i spent many hours in an 846 ford

Fiat Bought New Holland in 1991. Fiat New Holland bought Case IH in 1999 and formed CNH Group. New Holland and Case are the same tractors. Built in the same building.
