JD sued Kinze over the repower kits, and lost the suit. Then JD put Cummins in as OEM .🤔

Deere has used Cummins on the WA14, WA 17, 8960, 8970, 9570R, 9630R and 9R 640 from 1968-2022. In several forage harvesters as well.

We run a lot so here I go. I run an 8R 410 pulling a 16/31 2140 case planter for beans. We also run a case 420 rowtrac on a Great Plains 2425 on beans, 8R 310 on a 12/23 1240 case planter on beans/corn, 8R 340 on a Deere 1775NT for corn, and lastly a Deere 8400 on a Great Plains 1225 for beans/corn. It’s hectic.

This was set aside ground in CRP for 12 years. They plowed it for organic corn to clear the weeds and grass for cultivation as chemicals ca t be used.

This is a nice setup and I like it. I’ve also seen a John Deere 9470R tractor pulling a DB 120 planter with modifications to make it a 32 row planter on 40 inch row spacing. It was planting no till cotton into winter wheat out in Oklahoma.

Thank you jason for this video that is one big corn planter . The technology has come very long way since the 60s and 70s 80s It's amazing .love to see one working in the field .that frame would have to made very heavy to support that kind of weight and length.
@OrthmanMfgFranceКүн бұрын
Very interesting to talk with Neil. Why he don’t have starter fertiliser with the planter?
@MorganOtt-ne1qjКүн бұрын
I'm guessing it's both the time and weight. Would take a lot of tanks to match the seed hopper size, and roughly 40 acres per fill. He would need about 4000 gallons of tanks, whether they are frame mounted, saddles, or pull behind. Add the extra half hour+ to fill the tanks, and he could have been planting another 20 acres. Everything is a trade off.

Jason you’ll have to get a video of a DB120, I’m guessing there’s not many of those around.

The 6606 will cover 400 to 700 acres per day?
@Project_GoliathКүн бұрын
I believe that was hyperbolic sarcasm.
@joemueth4077Күн бұрын
Dad always thought 100 acres was a good day with the 6 row Max emerge back in the 80's.
@MorganOtt-ne1qjКүн бұрын
My best day with a 6 row Allis 333 was 100 acres, but that was including 2 milkings and feedings, 2 stops to shove food in , and filling starter tanks. That day was not quite 24 hours for me. I was slacking. 😯🤣🤣
