My 43' Oakmont only came with 2 ac units. The bunk house bedroom is miserable in the summer time. I added a third and just wired it to a separate 20amp water proof plug on the back of the trailer and run a heavy duty power cord. What a difference it makes for the whole trailer. 3 ACs is a must on on big trailers if you full time or use it in the southwest

In west Texas, alot of RV parks have covered spaces to keep the sun from directly hitting the rvs, alot of people who buy mobile homes do the same thing. It's definitely a noticable drop in electric bills from what I've been told.

They are great for a static environment just not moving.

Yeah, mini splits are there in the higher end 5th wheels. Hopefully this will trickle down to the not custom made units.

When running my generator I can stager start on 45 amps but that is it.

I thought for sure you would have a Micro Air soft start on all 3 of your a/c units.

Thanks for making this video. My 398MBL can hold about 80 degrees on a 100 degree day if we keep the blinds shut, add fans, and minimize the in and out. The duct work and vents are really poorly thought out in my opinion, I think it could cool much better if there were more ducts. From your video I can see you have several vents going down the left and right sides of your ac units. Ours only has 3 vents in the living area. I might look into adding a third (center) AC unit now that I see the thermostat can handle it since we have the same one you do.

Compressor starting amps is why you should stagger AC start ups.

I have one, saved my camper last fall when the campgrounds plug went bad and I wasn't there, melted my plug on the Hughes system, called them and had a new one in less than a week. Great customer service, definitely worth the money! As a union journeyman lineman, I would never plug in without one. I've personally seen way to many campers with burned up inverters, refrigerators and other costly repairs.

Running the ceiling fan will allow you to run that A/C unit a couple degrees warmer in that area.

I didn’t know power could be a problem. I have 3 15k BTU dometic blizzards running all the time and I’ve never changed what I run and when I run it. I’ve never had an issue running appliances with the 15k’s running. I even run the dryer while they’re going lol interesting

You can easily run 3 15k units on 50A service. The problem would be if you tried to run all 3 on a generator. This is why many manufacturers use 1 15k with 2 13.5k. This combination pretty much maxes out an Oman 5500 generator.

Can you show us the comparison between what the simply safe and the thermostat say?

The Simplisafe usually shows 2 degrees lower. It was 80 when the RV thermostat was 82

When you travel to camp sites in your RV. How you keep food cold? Can you use your refrigerator while traveling or you have put food in cooler until you get your camp site then you can use your refrigerator?

If it's 12v yes...if 110v no. However if it's cold before you leave it'll still be chilly in 10 hours if your not opening and closing it

You can also add a little dry ice to help keep the cold items cold.

Yes, it has 2 vents in it. It helps bring a fan though

I leave them out unless it will be extremely windy (over 50mph sustained winds)

Nothing worse than listening to generator/ noise pollution running all day in the woods when you're trying to relax camping with your family. Like what am I even doing out here
