I been peeing in the bushes for years. Main thing is to make sure you rotate where you pee so as not to build up too much stench and too much urine in one spot will kill what ever plants there. Normally just a piss here and there on a plant is actually good for it, provides fertilizer, but you have to think about the pH, over fertilized and such that will kill the plant. I'm always rotating around the front and back yard on where to piss. I figured I have saved thousands of gallons of fresh potable water every year, and tens of thousands of gallons all these years since peeing in the bushes. Hell I even started pissing while showering too about 15years ago.

I agree that the innovation with bikes has hit a bit of plateau, and I actually think it's going to recede a bit in the coming years. Things like Canyon's KIS is interesting, but it doesn't change the way we ride like the dropper post did. The dropper post became so "necessary" that it pushed people to 1x drivetrains. I don't think 1x (despite having additional benefits of chain retention and reliability) would be nearly as popular if the real estate on the left side of the bar wasn't needed for the dropper lever. I actually think the geometry progression will slow or even reverse as the industry and community shrinks post-boom. A lot of the rapid evolution of geometry has come from bikes becoming more specific to certain terrain (and the popularity of Enduro style riding). Manufacturers could sell a product line of 6 different models of FS bikes during the boom because the market was there. I think we may see a lot of companies pulling back to 2-3 models, but innovation may come in the form of adjustability and customization of those frames. Think better flip chips, adjustable kinematics like Canyon Shapeshifter, adjustable head angles, etc.

I appreciate that breakdown of my question. I'll have to try riding on of our local DH trails chainless (done it before just not intentionally). Happy trails! PS What's your opinion on bike only, DH only trails? Our local organization, COMBA, has been fully embracing them and putting them everywhere. I personally love them but would love to hear your opinion.
@WorldwideCyclery
@WorldwideCyclery Жыл бұрын
It is super fun to ride with no chain, really worth a try so you can feel it for yourself in the most noticeable way. As for bike only trails, I think that is a great idea. But does depend on the trail network. If the trail was built by MTB'ers just for MTB then it should stay MTB only and be directional. If it's an old trail that hikers also use I like the idea of odd/even days. Odd days for MTB only, even days for hike only. Some places in CO are like that and it's really nice.
@bobohunter1776
@bobohunter1776 Жыл бұрын
@Worldwide Cyclery That's pretty much my feelings as well. Next time you're in Colorado I highly recommend some of COMBA's trails. They are very unique especially for in Colorado. On thing that I have noticed with the even/odd days is those trails are notorious for conflict with hikers. It also tends not to deter many hikers. Apex is infamous for that.

My wishes for the bike industry : Mixed wheelset options, not even sizes but also rims, as you maybe want a lighter, softer rim in the front and burly, heavy, stiff one in the rear. Better servicibility, like reducing the number of bearings and bushings your parts need to function at its current level and also creating bikes and bike designs where everything is easily accessable, simple to understand and just more of a joy to work on. A general reevaluation of prices. I get you can charge 13k for a bike when people still buy them but thats not the case at the moment and they need to touch grass.

I think these videos add a ton of value and the people behind WC are rad! My only complaint and a reason why I shop at Jenson when I actually need something is that, WC takes 3-5 days after ordering to ship my purchase. I’ve had an order take as long as 3 weeks! So if I order something it takes a week to more. Jenson can come later that same day! Or at the slowest… the next day. (I live in NorCal) I know it’s tough to keep up with Amazon/Jenson. But why does it take so long to process my order and get it shipped? I would like to give more business with WC, but when I need a bike part, it’s usually because I broke something and need it ASAP.
@WorldwideCyclery
@WorldwideCyclery Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback Alex. I will say our shipping is dramatically faster these days and to be honest with us and really everyone else. It really depends on what you order. We offer 19,000 products on our site. 3000 of them which are commonly sold are kept in stock and able to ship same day as the order. However, some stuff needs to be pulled from a distributor via a just-in-time inventory order process or some of it might come from our Pennsylvania location because we only have one in stock there and none in stock in our California or Nevada locations, which, then it would take a while to go from Pennsylvania to Northern California. It’s a pretty complex supply chain. Which makes it really hard to get every single part to a specific location really fast. But all I can say is that don’t always assume it’s going to be slow from us as more often than not It’s actually just as fast as everywhere else. But depending on the product, it can be slow from us or anyone else as well. It’s a little bit like rolling dice. You are welcome to always reach out to us via email, phone or chat prior to any order and we can tell you exactly where it’s located and how quickly it will get to you. I also dare you to try and reach out to Jenson and get as thorough of a reply, and as quick of a reply on any customer support matter and compare it to us 😉. - Jeff

Judging by FOX Live Valve and Rockshox Flight Attendant, I think the future of mountain bikes might be suspensions that can automatically adjust themselves depending on where GPS says it is based on user defined profiles, maybe even integrated with a social network for sharing profiles, and based on the dropper post position. It's going to be expensive so I only see it catching on with pros

Yo James. Two things... 1) The V1 & V2 of our Virtue shorts came out too small, we fixed that for V3 & moving forward. Sizing has been a challenge to nail down and something we continue to refine. 2) As a small brand we only have the funds to offer so many sizes, as we grow we plan to offer more sizes and more fit-types to everything to accommodate all body types. Slowly but surely we will get there :) Thanks for giving KETL a try.

@@WorldwideCyclery thanks for the response. I kept my pants. The quality was too good and I'm on a weight-loss journey anyhow. I have a friend that had a hard time with your shorts, but frankly, he's a viking. I absolutely love my bib and jersey. Both were sized just right. It's our thunder thighs that gave us the problem.

The problem is bikes went up in price too damn fast and now we have overstock and rising other costs. That said, 2022 bikes should be 20-30% off, then prices need to go back to pre-Covid. I’m being patient and waiting out 2023 to see what’s there when the dust settles.

Guys, the avg consumer has no extra money atm due to inflation and other economic factors, yet the avg price for a mid-range bike is around $4000. This trend will continue for some time, and we will only see second hand bike sales spike over the next few riding seasons.

for me, Ebikes are not MTB. the only excuse for an Ebike user to be called an MTB is if the user is Person with Disabilities. That is just my opinion though ;)

Please lose the background music. It distracts from Jeff's presentation. Sorry, couldn't stay for the entire video because of repetitious obnoxious "music." Maybe next time. Bye.
