That was a great purchase, I Road mine for about two years, in the late 90s, and I got more for it when I sold it or should I say traded it in for my deuce in 2000, and talking about THE DEUCE I AM BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN ON MY 2003 DEUCE, I managed to pick it up reasonably cheap, but it does need a new drive belt, and have been quoted €1600 plus VAT to have one fitted, I’ll be doing this myself, even purchasing a ride and lift and a couple of sockets, it still works out a lot cheaper than taking it in to have it done by them, There was a issue with the bike , the alarm kept going off, found out that the alarm system back up battery, it’s terminals had corroded, and was causing an arc and setting off the alarm, I did have minor instant with it, taking it out to the back of the van, after taking it to to have a conformity inspection, I was using the front brake to help it come down the ramp, but the front brake decided to lock up and slid off the ramp, luckily the back wheel was already on the ground, then practice my ninja turtle acrobats, and very carefully laid the bike over, however, I did bend the front foot peg, no problem sorted, And with my special skills that I have been trained, ha ha ha, I pick the bike back up again dusted it all off, now ready to ride on Friday, be the first time properly being on a bike since 2018, the little village that I live in, is in for a rude awakening, lock up your daughters lock up your mothers. I’m coming through the village to pick them up., HA HA HA 🤣, I’m in my 70s and I’m going to enjoy my little bit of life that’s left , Stay safe have great fun while you can, As you never know, what is round the corner, I AM BACK, 😂, France.

Why swap out the case if that engine runs strong? Just drill out the stator mounting holes and install Heli coils or tig weld them up and drill & tap. I had the same issue and ended up drilling welding grinding drilling taping and installing heli coils. The steel threads of the heli coils are better then the aluminum threads anyway. I also heli coiled the inner primary mounting holes too on my case. I have a delkron case too. Nothing wrong with delkron cases there strong. I have 130k on my delkron case engine and it's a hard pulling beast that hasn't let me down.

That's in nice condition for sitting outside for so long....In the UK every fastener, chrome and paint would require refreshing/replacing. Your climate is SO much better for M/Cs.

Hopefully you can just swap everything straight into the new cases with new seals and gaskets and be good to go. I love the ultima cases.. the one i seen anyways looked stout af

Your MO Co story is something that I just heard the same thing of the local independent shop by me. They totaled it first and then after a tear did not have it fixed yet. When owner came after his scoot, the dropped it off the lift and refused to pay for anything. Great find when your not afraid to turn your own wrenches. Saving another one is just outstanding!!! I look forward to seeing some videos of the build!!!

If they had dropped my bike and was responsible for messing up the engine they would pay for the damage. That may not even be a fact, unless he had a recording you said yourself you can’t trust anyone that sells used motorcycles…. Bike sounds good though, so now after you’ve worked on that bike, what after market parts did it have, I’m curious

If those delkron cases aint cracked id make damn sure id git them broken bolts out. Delkrins are old top fuel style case. You dont use those unless you need to, know ehat i mean

I've got a brother who got a good deal kinda like this . If it fell off the lift at a Harley dealership and did all that damage . They should have turned it into their insurance , who would have totaled it out and sold with a salvage title...still a good deal ya all got .

Yes ,there are a ton of bone head people that should not ever be near a drill/ or tools or touch anything machine mechanic,,,,,,,just stupid people , lol I seen red rider had a problem with some bolts , she drilled out to a bigger hole and threaded the holes ,and use 3/8 bolts and center drilled them to the original quarter inch size or so , and replaced them , pinged them in with lock tight,and used same stater bolts that come in the thing,,, it’s a ton of precision measuring to get it exactly right but it can, be done,,,thanks BigAl California.

nice find i got an 86, can you rotate the stator 20degrees for example and drill and tap new holes?

can you try to use a nut and weld the broken off bolt to the nut and try to use the nut back out the broken bolt?

Yeah people get crazy with pricing there bike sometimes .....sorry not paying 8 grand for 100 thousand mile bike ...just cuse it has fancy rims or paint ....lol

Harley Davidson forks should have drain plugs. Foolish. My Triumph Tr-6 has them and it's so easy to change the fork oil.

How the dealership didn't fix what they brokeis pathetic. I would sue them for damages. Plastic parts in an engine is just plain stupid.
