That bike puts out a whopping 15 hp (rounding up). Lance Armstrong probably could have kept up better, even without the roids.

jt354~ The Ariel makes about 1500 hp. This Atom looks like it doesn't belong on regular roads but on a formula 1 race course.

I’ve been 17 years old and revving my throttle on my 125 (jokingly of course) at the lights to a guy in a GTR at the lights and he saw it as I intended, wound down his window and said “too much power for me lad” then proceeded to smoke me at the lights; I still gave it full beans from the get go though just for the giggles, it’s all about having fun guys 🤣👍

I was about to say that your bike sounds like a 250 or something small, then I saw that you had a 125. It's quite brave to try to keep up with an Ariel Atom on a 125 :)

I think you're right about it being basically a moped of a bike but they are in town and that does help the bike if he's willing to take advantage of the smaller size

I've driven an Ariel Atom, the supercharged 320 bhp version and it's the nearest I've been to bike acceleration in my life and at the time i had a Zx12rA1. The Atom in this video i believe is the full 500hp V8. Brutal car.

Michael Figgins You ride whatever you are allowed to and can. Not everyone can have a s1000rr :) But I agree, it's not fun to ride or watch this bike. This Videos purpose is to show the Ariel atom tho.

You displayed good driving habits and most of all plenty of common sense. I don't think I would have kept up as well as you even though I've been riding motorcycles the better part of 56 years. These good driving manners would be considered street racing in Germany today and the car would be impounded over this video because he filmed the plate and you could see they were doing twice the speedlimit at one point, it won't matter that it was perfectly safe. Owner would have a small chance to dodge the law if someone takes the wrap for him or a decent lawyer convinces a judge who doesn't own a car that doing twice the speedlimit is not that dangerous.

His riding style and acceleration management is extremely smooth and steady - he rode that bike like his job was a professional film cameraman, and you can see this isn't image-stabilised, it's just him. Great riding.

By coincidence, I was just comparing 0-60 and quarter mile times on my bike, a K1600GT (2.6 and 10.9), and the Arial Atom. It beats me by 1/10 of a second in both. My bike's tuned, so maybe on a good day... Edit: Obviously, the Atom would slay me in the twists.

I've seen a Top Gear episode where an Ariel Atom was pitted against a performance motorcycle with professional drivers on/in each, and it wasn't even close. The Atom smoked the motorcycle on their test track.

I would imagine it would be hard to keep up with much of anything on a 125. I wish I had read the description before I wasted the time watching this. I was expecting something exciting like a R6 chasing down the Atom, not some light spirited tailing by a scooter. I'd like to run across one of these while cruising around on my FZ-09.

You can't ride real bikes until you're 24 in Sweden. 125cc is max if you're 16/17.

Don't know if you've watched the video but the bike keeps up with him? Obviously if a vehicle in front pulls away first then it will have a temporary head start. Very strange interpretation of a video.

I thought there must have been something wrong with the bike's acceleration as i would've been on that Atoms tail every time, and I'm 72. Then I find out it was a 125cc 🙄. An Aprilia rs125 would've made a better fist of it.

I’ve crossed 100mph on an Aprilia rs125. The derestricted, 33bhp version. They’re actually almost too light for that speed. But I loved that bike.

I don't see any evidence of the title,The motorcyclist is a reasonably good rider,Has respect for other road users,But to "keep up" needs to be more aggressive, Edit undertaking and on a zebra crossing,Going over double lines all foolhardy around town and at the end sounds his horn instead of braking

Dude you need to learn how to anticipate when he was going to floor it. Driving around like that, you should almost be on the throttle before they are. If not, you don't have a chance even if you where evenly matched.

I've driven one, the 320 brake supercharged version, at the time i owned a Zx12rA1 and you're right, they are bloody quick, but not big bike quick in a straight line, the only car that's put a massive grin on my face, and I've driven quite a few supercars, the atom is on another level. I think the one in this video is the full fat 500bhp V8 can't imagine what that's like!

He was passing in a turning lane. Also changing lanes in an intersection and pulling beside someone at a one lane stoplight to pass them right after the light turns green in construction. Rides like a real cunt. Exactly why people hate bikers.
