It's been a little over seven weeks since my crash, but today marks my return to the trails with a bikepacking adventure that I am very excited for. The Capital Divide, a route stretching over 600 miles from the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, to the capital of England, London. This is a route I have been putting together over the last couple of years using trails I have enjoyed over the last couple of years since starting to film these adventures. My journey will take me through the stunning Pentland Hills, the rugged hilly trails of Northumberland, the North Pennines, and the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales. From there, I'll head towards the East Coast, making my way to the scenic Lincolnshire Wolds before making my way into the bustling heart of London. Finishing my journey at Big Ben.

I'm super late to get this pinned comment I was out getting the redemption for part 2 so make sure you subscribe so you don't miss that. Anywhoo welcome back and as always thank you so much for sticking around for the time I needed to take off. But it felt so good to get back on the trails with the capital divide I route I have created using some of my favourite trails that I have found over the last couple of years. Connecting Edinburgh to London, the long term plan though is more epic with plans to extend this over to Cardiff - Dublin - Belfast sounds good ayy. As always, thanks for the continued support. ❤ Check out the keep smiling adventures website for routes kits and more - www.keepsmilingadventures.com/

Good to see you biking again. As I Bikepacker I swear by mechanical brakes. They are much easier to repair... And nowadays there are really good ones out there. Oh and yes, the bombtrack is better for trips like this. Anyway, just my 5 euro cent of feedback. Looking forward to your next adventures. Greetings from Belgium

It's honestly just riding lots of combinations of different routes all over the place. I will use Komoot normally to plot them to get the GPX. But ultimately it's just getting out there and riding. If you check out www.keepsmilingadventures.com/ I have all the routes I covered on this channel, you can maybe find some routes you like the look of and get riding. Once you figured out what you like riding, you can put together a route you like, using the bits you like and missing the bits you don't.

Great to see you back on the bike Josh! Strange to see you camped your first night really (really) close to where I live outside of Peebles. All of the bike shops in and around Peebles are expensive (local rental and business rates are very, very high) but NIck and Pippa at BSpoke are really kind and always go that extra mile. Sorry you had to ditch the route but glad you've recovered. Looking forward to the next episode!

47 quid is literally insane. like you say, no wonder theyre going out of business. when i was looking for a new touring bike i told multiple bike shops ive got thousands just sitting in the bank for a new bike and almost every one of them had this attitude of "dunno, cant help ya". a bit of common sense and making a few suggestions and they might of got themselves a sale but in the end i had to order online all the way from aberdeen!

@KeepSmilingAdventures
@KeepSmilingAdventures 29 күн бұрын
I really wouldn't want cable discs, off-road just don't really cut it. Especially loaded, I'm going to make this bike more reliable with a flat bar set up. The road hydraulic stuff is just too pricey for me to keep it going.

And I still got burnt 🤭 I have done a video on tent on the second channel @MOREkeepsmilingadventures, but it's sold separately. This one is a 3 piece carbon pole from gram counter, I did have a 5 piece one which broke on the dales divide. Alpkit who made this tent do also sell a pole separately also.
