How to install a Shimano Ultegra 11 speed Cassette, 32 teeth. I Use a Park Tool FR-5.2H to remove the cassette along with a Park Tool standard chain whip. Make sure you reinstall the appropriate spacers if any are loose and ensure the 11th or last cog (gear) is flat and even before installing the lock ring.

What a fantastic video. Concise, informative, and tells you everything you need to know when replacing a cassette for the first time. Question: Do you need to use grease/lube on any of the components?

No, none needed, but you may hear otherwise. if you do, very thin coat., transparent.

Are most all spacers the same thickness within the each assembly ?....again controlling part sequence in the assembly is very important especially for non pros....great video thank you

Thanks for the video! Do you recommend putting some kind of grease like Park Tool PPL-1 on the free hub body before installing the cassette?

When I installed the cassette on my shimano freehub using Parktool FR5 and a spanner wrench, the hub clicks and stops tightening as if there is an internal torque release mechanism built in. I haven’t seen that in any videos. Is that normal? I’m not even using a torque wrench.

If I go from 32 to 34 tooth cassette, will I need to lengthen the chain? Thinking about upping my climbing gear for a mountain trip coming up...

Yes you may. Consider your current length now. Then proceed. New shifter so chain is in the figure in the front figure in the back pull the chain together with you and see if you have any excess links. You need at least one extra link or to actually see if you have a one by

I've heard that it's possible to upgrade from 9 speed to 11 speed cassette. So besides the 11 speed cassette, which other components would I need to complete the upgrade on my road bike?

Chain, shifter, rear derailleur. Most likely the crankset(chainrings), front der. It’s a big jump, so 8 think everything.
