When you make a plan and everyone starts to bail at the last minute.
This venture was supported by SR Suntour, so a big thank you to Hoshi and all the other great people working for and associated with SR Suntour. I've been using their suspension front and rear on my bikes for 6 years now. They are permanently improving and evolving. The company is at the leading edge of suspension manufacture and design. Their prices for top end MTB suspension are also unmatched, so if you are in the market for some fresh luxurious suspension at a good price make it the first place to look.

Myself and Foggy met up in BikePark Kouty in the Czech Republic, Foggy as meant to have two more boys in tow, while I was meant to have another friend who sadly broke his hand the day before the trip. James was meeting us soon though so a merry party of three would still set out to visit some cool new places. With amazing riding spots in Czarna Gora, Bielsko Biala, Szyzrck in Poland, Kouty and Trutnov in Czechia, Mala Fatra National Park in Slovakia, a quick stop in Hungary where the Iron Curtain used to pass before meeting Max Trafella in Bruck an der Mur in Austria. The trip ended in Maribor Slovenia!

I've never been but I've heard of some great spots further down south like Sopot in Bulgaria. Also Slovakia and CZ have a ton of spots like Koprvina and I think one of the bikeparks has an insane airline some local pinners recently tested.

@@NotADuncon Ahh thanks for the good shout for Bulgaria, I'll look into Sopot! We almost went to Koprvina but in the end went to Czarna Góra instead but Koprivna definintely looked pretty fun too!! One for next time.

a bit other side of Europe. But Sintra in Portugal is great all year long. Not cable cars but pedaling and van shuttle is perfect ;)

Ohh that sounds like it could be a good winter destination for us to try. Quite a few of the brits head to various parts of portugal in the winter, we have mostly stuck to a bit of a road or xc or gone ot Finale for mountain bikes during winter. but maybe a portugal one could be nice one to try next! Cheers for the tip! @@Rent4Trail

That Austrian hand-cut trail looked like a belter as did the techy stuff in Poland, almost had a Scottish vibe with all that rain!
@LiamMoynihan
@LiamMoynihan 8 ай бұрын
The Austrian trail was a beauty! They'd put a big shift into it and it was a good length too. The Stuff in Czarna Gora was a bit like Scotland but with less gradient. Very tricky to get it good!

Next time you’re in Poland make sure to get to Srebrna Gora, only about an hour away from Czarna Gora and an absolute banger! Rychlebské stezky is also an awesome trail centre in Czech!

Aww nice, thanks for the hot tip. A few folk have said Rychlebské stezky. I think it was fairly close to Kouty but we decided to go to Czarna Gora instead! Cheer for the info!!

Thanks Alan. Was a good time with the Foggy Doggy. Haha. Aye James certainly does enjoy swiping. It's his number 1 favourite sport, with bike riding a distant second hahaha. Some boy!

Yes! Kouty are the best! In Czech Rep. there are other good locations.. My favorite is Rychlebské stezky and Trutnov Trails 👍 Cheers from Prague.

We loved Kouty! It was so good. Especially one of the Fresh tracks, which we think had been put in for a race the week before? We didn't really like Trutnov so much, not too much gradient, but maybe there are some secret tracks there which we missed? Need to put Rychlebské stezky on the list for next time!

@@LiamMoynihan Yes Liam, in Kouty has been a enduro race. Why didn't like Trutnov?For me it's one of the best (legal)Trail area in Czech rep. but Rychlebské stezky they are superior (little bit more😁 )

Zakopane in the south of Poland is an amazing place for some big mountain stuff.
@LiamMoynihan
@LiamMoynihan 8 ай бұрын
Ahh Really?! We were planning to go there and then quite a few people told us we couldn't ride bikes there that it was Illegal and there was no way past it so we went to Mala Fatra for our mountain day instead. I'm keen to go back to Southern Poland though so good to know that Zakopane is on!

@@LiamMoynihan Some of the more popular natural paths are extremely busy during the peak summer season; perhaps they've introduced new rules? Harenda should be running gondy services during the summer time though, with some chunky DH tracks. Jelenia Góra is a nice little gem to discover as well, and should be free of any regulations. Not as rugged as the high Tatra, but still fairly nice fast descents with similar elevation to Scottish munros. Great cuisine as well.

@@laurynasjagelo5075 Ahh yeh maybe that's what it is! Ohh hadn't heard of Harenda, need to note these spots all down for next time!! Same with Jelenia Góra, might be a better option than Trutnov in that area! haha

Liam, who are the 10´s best competitor in Megavalanche, in your opinion?
@LiamMoynihan
@LiamMoynihan 8 ай бұрын
Tricky question, do you mean in the past few years to race against or historically in the past? Over the years Remy Absalon, Damien Oton, Jerome Clementz and Rene Wildhaber were the absolute kings of the race. Damien still is and would have won the past two years but had mechanical issues while leading both times. They are for sure the 4 best! In the past 4 or 5 years that I've been racing it, aside from Damien there is also - Kilian Bron, Stefan Peter, Olivier Bruwiere, Hugo Pigeon. I've had some really close battles with Olivier at both Megavalanche and Mountain of Hell in the last few years and he is always good to race against. Hope that helps? haha
