Discover the thrill of biking in Idaho along the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes from Medimont to Plummer! This cycling journey showcases the stunning landscapes and hidden gems of Idaho's iconic trail.
Although this ride is only a small stretch of the 73 mile, paved trail, there is a lot to enjoy. The trail winds its way through lush forests, alongside pristine lakes, and offers stunning views of the Coeur d'Alene River. The well-maintained path is perfect for cyclists of all levels, providing a mix of smooth stretches and exciting terrain. The highlight of the ride is crossing the 3,100 foot long Chatcolet Bridge. The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes we indicted into the Rail-Trail Hall of Fame in 2010. This ride took place on September 2, 2023.

Have ridden the trail 3 or 4 times and think it is one of the best Rail to Trail rides out there, very well maintained

I just stumbled onto your channel. Thank you for your content. This was informative and beautiful. I’ve driven past the trail and always wanted to ride it. Now that we have e-bikes my husband just might agree to it after watching this video!

How did you get from your camp site to Medimont?
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes 2 ай бұрын
Drove the car. If I recall correctly, it was about a 45 minute drive. We could have jumped on the trail right from where we camped, but I wanted to see the bridge -- so that would have been more RT miles than we wanted to ride. Thanks for watching.

How is that bridge for those petrified of heights?
@Adventuresonebikes
@Adventuresonebikes Ай бұрын
I don't know that I can do anything to answer this question other than share my experience, as I'm not sure I can put myself in your shoes. I am moderately uncomfortable with heights, and I didn't think anything of being on this bridge. The deck is wide and you don't have to go near the edge if you don't want to. The path up to the bridge is gradual. Thanks for your support of our channel.

@@Adventuresonebikes OK that’s kind of what I thought. I have gone over the trestles on the Cascade to Palouse Trail and they are wider than they look in any pictures so I think I’ll be fine. I’ll just think about all the other people that aren’t afraid of it so that should work. Thank you for answering.
